Hello guys... I like to do everything offline because at some point nintendo will turn off their servers in 2019 like stated in the ModMii... So making sure I get the files needed before the D2X CIOS Downloader over the internet stops working in future. Not asking for anyone to send me the files, I'm asking for help which ones in what spots to get I have all I need fully working in .wad format for base56 249 / base57 250

For example below is the instructions to get the two above files needed for offline installation. Normal Wii NOT vWii

Code:
IOS -> IOS56 -> v5661
IOS -> IOS57 -> v5918

0000000100000038 -> 5661 -> IOS56-64-v5661.wad
0000000100000039 -> 5918 -> IOS57-64-v5918.wad

But I cannot work out the path -> - > IOS location to get the correct wad for offline installation for base58/251
Can anyone who's done this themselves please let me know which one via the NUS Downloader it is maybe?

You can download a queue of files in modmii so that you'll have everything modmii needs to operate. Prepopilated queues for expressly this purpose was added to a recent update.

You can build custom cios's using ModMii Classic's advanced downloader, you can change slots and version numbers, add custom patches and stuff too.

Hello XFlak nice to meet you :) Thank you for taking the time to reply. Yes, ModMii is an amazing tool really well put together, but for this instance all I need is the 1 specific location > .wad name it
pulls from NUS Downloader please.

i.e. Path

00000001000000?? -> ???? -> IOS??-??-v????.wad

Edit: It's no longer a case anymore of it working via a tool I've been searching for several hours trying to find out the exact path/name so it's now a mission of finding out which sucker it actually is.

My mistake Sorry, didn't see this in the classic interface I was using the GUI looking Inno Setup Style Interface. Grabbing them all now. Still would love to know the actual manual path and which .wad filename relates to the item that fills in base58/slot 251 if at all possible. This NUS QUE ALL downloader will indeed download everything, but it's still not going to inform me which .wad filenames belongs to that base58/251 does it?

Not sure what you're asking. Are you asking for the download info for IOS58? IOS58 serves as the base for some cIOSs (not even commonly used ones at that), and slot 251 means nothing, it's like telling me where you parked you car instead of what kind of car you own.

Hello XFlak sorry for the confusion. The only way to explain is by posting 2 links.

https://sites.google.com/site/completesg/backup-launchers/installation

On that page if you scroll down it shows you exactly what files to get for both offline installs via NUS Downloader.
I got both of these files.

However, on that site it doesn't mention about base58 slot 251 but the site below does.

https://wii.guide/cios

If you scroll down you will see

Select cIOS: v10 beta52 d2x-v10-beta52
Select cIOS base: 58
Select cIOS slot: 251
Select cIOS version: 65535

I need to find out which wad on the NUS downloader it is refering too for me to manually get that wad to go into base58/slot 251
Unless this is already included in the IOS56-64-v5661.wad or IOS57-64-v5918.wad files?

Does that make more sense now?

Sorry for posting links to other sites, but there's no way I could of explained it without doing that.

You don't need that cios. D2X v8 final CIOS 249 base 57 is all that you should need for 99.9% of cases. Modmii installs 202,222,223, 236 and 250 as alternatives but really no one uses them. If you add 251 it's just one more cios collecting dust but if that's what you want to do it won't hurt anything.

If u want you can build this cios using ModMii, from modmii classic's advanced downloads page just choose 24958, then change the slot and version number to your liking. The base IOS58 wad will be saved to your modmii temp folder, which will allow you to recreate any cios that uses that ios as a base (without needing an internet connection to redownload anything). Further the actual custom cios you built will be saved in wad form in your copy_to_sd folder.

You could copy the IOS58 wad from modmii's temp folder to your sd card and the d2x installer will use that to build the same cios on the fly. Again not necessary since modmii and the d2x installer are capable of building the same cios'.

If u want to build a different version of d2x (I. E. V10 beta instead of v8 final) enter "beta" on modmii's download page before entering "24958"

Cheers for the detailed instructions. It's no longer a matter of actually using it it's more the fact I've spent over 2-3 days now searching site after site after site for any information to which .WAD on the NUS Downloader I would need to look for to download this file. I suffer from OCD so I needed to close this loop. Won't make sense to anyone who doesn't suffer from it.

Correct via NUS Downloader for this ever elusive single wad file that works with base58/251 I can get the wad file myself if only someone would just tell me the actual name of it lol

0000000100000038 -> 5661 -> IOS56-64-v5661.wad
0000000100000039 -> 5918 -> IOS57-64-v5918.wad

I have them 2 which goes into base56/249 | base 57/250 but I cannot find out, and nobody seems to know which IOSxx -64-vxxxxx.wad I need to complete this 3 install set.

1. Grab NUS Downloader and start it up.

Use the Database and navigate to IOS -> IOS58 -> v6176.
On the bottom, click Pack WAD. Then click Start NUS Download.

2. Once it is done, go back to the NUS Directory (Extras -> Open NUSD Directory).
Open the titles folder, then go to 000000010000003A and then 6176.
You can find the IOS58-64-v6176.wad file in this folder. Copy it to SD:/wad.

But isn't 6176 the same IOS that the homebrew channel has already? Is the CIOS guide saying to also install that into base58/251 as well?

v6176 is the version number. not the ios number.
ios58 is needed for usb 2.0 speed.
you will install a patched ios58 on slot 251 (the app grabs the ios 58 wad you put on sd card, patches it and installs on the slot you want, in this case: 251 )

So it's a full circle in that case and completely pointless if usb2.0 speeds is already installed with IOS58/Homebrew Channel? I thought all along it was this wad but wasn't sure and zero way to test it out. Cheers for the help guys.

Depends on what you want: it's true that CIOS had an USB 2 driver out before the official 58 (and probably 59) did
But only one IOS is running at any time (and they aren't 100% interchangeable either)

Homebrew only really started standardizing on 58 (before, 36, 35, CIOS 202/249 for USB 2 were all popular to some extent) once AHBPROT started becoming understood and widespread (switching IOS disables AHBPROT; AHBPROT allows arbitrary hardware access, including to memory, and therefore having CIOS-like patches such as trucha without actually needing a CIOS; and official USB 2 is that nice feature that made them choose 58 instead of others)

Hey Ryccardo! You mentioned depends on what you want. At first I was trying to just find this offline .wad file plain and simple to go with my other 2 for if/when NUS Downloader goes offline.
This way I don't have to worry about rely on in the future not being able to mod the wii with the D2X CIOS Installer. Since if the server goes offline this installer trying to download files will be useless.

However, if I have all 3 needed offline then I'm covered if/when the day happens. I was just trying to follow that wii.guide in the links above and it mentioned this 1 wad that other guides didn't
I just was curious to why other guides missed out base 58/251 and since they are just relying on the cIOS Installer to do it via internet they've not give any information which file this is for offline install.

I think it's mainly a cultural issue, after all Wii modding is over 10 years old and having wifi at home in the developed world is now the norm by a wide margin (and stupid ISPs that gave you bridge-only routers, where every individual device had to do PPPoE to go online, having died down, etc) - it's already hard enough to buy a new 10-12 inch laptop with Ethernet!

And, as I wrote to someone else with a related question in the WiiU forums this morning, "guides" typically get you to a goal without explaining why or how, a base 37 CIOS runs most games, only one or two officially used 58, and neither of those is something the average Fr33 G4m3z consumer is likely to want :)

The CDN closing is by itself speculation in the first place (speculation the precedent of the DSi points against, too)

And finally, it doesn't help that pretty much every on-console IOS patcher with an offline option does things a different way (Dop-Mii using a CDN-like folder structure with loose content files, most others using WADs in the root or some other folder with whatever naming scheme, etc)

For whatever it's worth, 3 versions of IOS58 are dumped on that (famous plumber-3d shape) site, and IIRC on a torrent too

Little bit lost you saying this IOS58 isn't on the official Nus Downloader? Is it custom cIOS? If I got it completely wrong not after getting it from some dodgy site only the NUS Downloader.

It is on the official CDN (which you can access with NUS Downloader as well as other tools); but if/when it won't be there anymore, if you miss your legal personal backup, there will be other people who will be able to offer you theirs :)
