Homebrew "HELP" with cfw new 3ds small system not xl i need assistance.

I am wanting to know if it is completely safe to update my cfw new 3ds from sys 11.8.0-41 to the latest firmware every where I google online I do not find much details of it an ill be honest im new to this hacking 3ds scene a lil I have a lot of 3ds cia games an my own 3ds games ive purchased over the years installed on my system an I dont want to lose access to them if I do update my 3ds an then I lose access to cfw an everything on my system as in custom splash screen, an custom themes no longer work nor badges either an yes ive unlinked my Nintendo account just incase it riskes me getting banned so I didnt want to risk it knowing how Nintendo works nowadays keeping track of banning people,

so I unlinked my account so my question is how do I update my system safely an if it is possible do I have to back up my system which is not a problem but I need like a step by step instructions please dont hate me for asking for details ive spent a few hours trying to find anything an im unable to find anything about my firmware just something about firmware 9 an 8 which is obsolete completely an has nothing to do with the 3ds system nowadays but if anyone does know anything about this matter im having please help me on what I require as in files an other info I might need to do this process.

Update Luma to the latest version
(https://github.com/AuroraWright/Luma3DS/releases) and you will be able to update the console to the latest firmware

If i have the latest version already which is 9.1 then how do i update it? Without losing anything from my system.

Just go to Settings and update like you would on an unhacked system.

An i dont even have to back it up or anything? An i wont lose any thing right? I just wanna be fully sure before i proceed cause once i do i dont want to have anything no longer work.

I mean, it wouldn't help to have a more up-to-date sysnand backup, but you don't have to make one.

Everything that works on 11.8 works on 11.9

An its as simple as just going to systen update from settings an updating to 11.9 an it really is safe?

Thank you everyone it worked successfully an i backed up sysnand an everything works smoothly no issues an no issues i was just worried if it didnt work my 3ds would just be a paper weight then cause i dont plan on buying games anymore for the 3ds due to the switch being out.

You need to link back the account which had the games purchased. They are all linked to that one account.

Nope. If you change accounts you cannot enter eshop without it removing any games not linked to the account. For online I believe you do as it requires you to log on. There aint no homebrew that does any of that. Gotta keep with not using eshop on alt

Tbh im really surprised i mean i own alot of cfw game systems like ps3,psvita,Wii,i did used to own a wii u, 3ds but still what im quite surprised about is how the 3ds hacking scene works its a odd one an ill explain the ps vita has homebrew to reset licenses on downloaded games an owned ones if i delink a account to no longer use one it brings my licenses back, same goes for ps3,

idk if its just me but im like really surprised tho how far the 3ds hacking scene came dont get me wrong im glad i can hack my 3ds but one thing that i do really sish existed was that one ability to restore licenses on a new account that im using, idk i guess ive grown accustomed to that with my other cfw consoles but the 3ds i was looking everywhere for it

but i guess im shit outta luck with linking an account then it seems as you said indeed does happen an my games go poof gone basically till i relogin relink up resync eshop then i have to go into godmode9 an unlink my account so i no longer have an account linked die to that account being my primary account everywhere on nintendo consoles im not risking losing my switch games lol but still i do wish the 3ds could have that one ability i do admit tho the 3ds when installing games is a bit tricky even with gettin my 128sdcard to work with devmenu an bbm i literally had to sacrifice half of my storage which sucks lol i was forced to decrease the sd cards storage to 90gb in order for the apps to work otherwise when i boot em up i get an internal arm11 error an crashes my system tested also with my small sd card an it works so i decided to decrease storage i read an no issues very odd with those cia installers tho.

If you dont care about if ya purchased the games or not. You could dump the ones you bought as a cia and install with FBI. Its one way that it makes the game not link to any account when used.

Back your games up often. As for your lost games, the easiest solution would be to find .cia files off the Internet. As links to such a site are illegal, I cannot say what they are but can confirm that they do exist, and are not terribly hard to find.

I now have another issue every cia file ive downloaded of this one game nearly 55 times from different sources all fail an every other game to fails i dont know what to do

ive downloaded its encrypted file also an decrypted it then converted it an that also still fails to install, my godmode9 fails to convert a .3ds file to .cia to an im on the latest version 1.7.1 but alls it does before trying is says operation failed an does nothing so godmode9 cannot make a .cia for me so i use my pc put that method fails on my 3ds to install the .cia ive created i know the game isnt broken nor damage when ive tested it on citra ive tested the decrypted file i made of the 3ds rom an works great, an ive tested the converted 3ds to .cia file on citra since .cia files require to be installed so i tested it an runs great so what is wrong with my 3ds game system that none of my games will install i download ive downloaded from a site called 3dscia

but half of em dont work as in to install they just fail an i use devmenu only since fbi cant install big files i dont know why, i i also have BBM but i rarely use it, but i have no idea what to do anymore

Since ive tried everything i can possibly think of i mean this is messed up on how my 3ds refuses to install some of these games an most of em are pokemonx,y,sun,moon,omegaruby,alphasapphire,ultrasun,ultramoon an supersmashbros3ds with dlc,an update data, like those all fail to install an also mario an luigi dreamteam,an browsers inside story,detectivePikachu i been trying to install an ive spent three days with this problem an still cant fix it ive tried numerous versions from numorous different websites an all do same outcome an dont install... I've looked everywhere an no one has a tutorial ive also tried decrypt9 but booting from homebrew homebrew launcher doesnt boot shows black screen with nothing on it an goes to homescreen. so I don't know anymore on what to do really an i really need help.
