So what’s the difference between this and the captive portal? I haven’t tried this yet but it seems to be just another way to launch the portal.
Full video support among other things like no need to use a DNS and possibly allowing access to the switch's window.nx api

is it just me or youtube still doesn't work? (I know there's an app for it)
It does.
Open a video, touch (!) on the play/pause icon once to "pause" it and again to "play" it and it will start. At least it does for me on 6.2 with Atmo.
Doing this with the JoyCons won't work, you need to do it with touch input.

Joy cons are working fine here though.
I can't believe Nintendo made such a beautiful UI to play videos but is preventing people from using it.

By that you mean the cookies/cache thing? Would be great If I could stay logged into my Google account at least. :)
Yeah, cookies and cache, see this: https://github.com/crc-32/BrowseNX/issues/4 and also there's a flag/argument for this web applet too which might mean cookies, but only references caching.
The dash accounts work fine however as they keep you signed in via IP to get round this limitation, so if you do decide to use the extra features of the dash bear in mind anyone on that wifi will also have your account.

Ha! Thank you. That's funny. And the cursor works too so technically JoyCons work.

My guess is there's problem playing the ad in the beginning. Somehow pausing and playing skips it
