Yeah, I found that dual IPS screens 3DS models tend to fetch a higher price. Too bad it's all up to chance if you'll get dual IPS unless the seller states it outright, or GameStop lets you check the screens. I think my niece has dual TN screens on her Super Mario Black New 3DS (she got it from GameStop, definitely used, but refurbished, apparently), but I don't think she really minds all that much, TBH. She got it for $100, so not too bad, I think, considering the slightly beat up look.

I got a dual IPS hyrule the other day for $85. Has a little ding on the shell and I spent an hour on the road, but so worth it. also it came with ocarina of time.

Also snagged a Hyrule recently at gamestop for $110, dual IPS. I've heard of other people getting it this way, I don't think they even check, so see if a gamestop near you is carrying the hyrule.

Gotta say the real game-changer from IPS is actually in retro emulation. Sidescrollers move so much smoother and the fine detail on dithering and textures is crystal clear even in motion.

Hey man good snag. The hyrule edition seems to have very good odds of dual IPS. I didn't even know what IPS/TN was when I made this thread haha. God damned turd-poo-charger making me want things I don't have. It took me a while to be able to tell the difference, but now it's pretty obvious once you see a dual IPS and a dual TN. IPS top is all you really need, but once you see the dual.... mwah..

:edit:
It was actually comput3rus3r fault, not turd-poo.

Yeah I think those super mario edition mini n3ds are all TN all the time. I thought I was going to like it, but the screens are way smaller, but the whole unit is only slightly smaller the the xl. Just not a good trade off, especially when you're getting dual TNs.
