Hi!

I have a 2.3 switch and am now updating to 6.2 using ChoiDujourNX. Now I have read that firmwares higher 4 burn fuse of the game controler, which prevents a later downgrade. There is a hint written in the notes of ChoiDujourNX:
"When flashing the firmware image for any 4.0.0 or later firmware, ChoiDujourNX will generate a protective hekate_ipl.ini on your microsd, with a "PreventGCUpdate" launch target. You must ALWAYS boot using this launch target (or add kip1patch=nogc to any launch target you wish to use in the future)"
I have the problem that I deleted this generated file and honestly I don't understand what this sentence means :-(

In some discords was discussed, that atomsphere automatically does this. Is this true? Or what should I do to prevent the fuse burn? Can I boot up 6.2 with atomsphere and the CFW handles this automatically or do I have to create some file or something?

Thanks

The game cart reader don't have fuses, the problem in firmware 4.0+ is that the firmware of the game cart have a update and an updated game cart reader don't work on firmware lower than 4.0. And yes, the latest versions atmosphere check the fuses and the firmware version to know if it needed to apply the nogc patch.

The game cart reader does in fact have fuses, 4.0+ updates the gc firmware if needed and burns a fuse to make downgrading the gc firmware impossible
