thanks i wait for your next update for method 3 ;)

  • Your Trinket / Rebug will look for "payload.bin" OR "start.bin" in SD root and launch automagically.
  • 0 folder not needed
  • nx files not needed
  • No folders will be made
  • If "payload.bin" or "start.bin" is not found, Hekate 4.5 will launch.
  • This is meant for people who don`t want to be pissing around with folders / nx files / etc etc

Hello again, thank you so much for your continuous development and support on this.

I have an itsybitsy m0 express installed. Very simple install, two data wires and the 3.3v, and gnd on chip that i soldered myself. (not sure which install method to call it) Have autoRCM enabled so chip detects RCM and boots payload automatically when turned on.

I have a question. If i want multiple payloads, i have to load 4A3C_ItsyBitsy_mode2.UF2 to the chip and short pin 10 to cycle through payloads, correct? 1.nx, 2.nx 3.nx in 0 folder. it will cycle 1, 2, 3 and then go back to 1, 2... etc over and over again, correct? This means I will have to solder in a tactile switch to short pin 10 to ground and enable cycling of payloads. I wish I could do this with the existing reset button on the chip, but it appears this cannot be done.

I do not want hekate payload built in to the chip. The reason for this is because when a new hekate comes out, i can simply convert it to a .dat file myself, drag and drop and replace the old one. done. If it's built in to the .UF2, i do not want to bother and request you to develop a new one for it, as i know you are very busy and I value your time. Plus, i had some trouble with it not finding my SD files for some reason. And if i ever want to replace it with a different payload, i can simply replace 1.nx in the 0 folder.

I apologize for my beginner level knowledge on the subject.

Thanks again! :)

No you don't need to solder a switch.

Just change to mode 3 or mode 6. That autoincreases. Mode 3 is 3 payloads, mode 6 is 8 payloads. Read the mode table in op

OK... If someone wants to try this...

https://github.com/mattytrog/Basic-Modchip-UF2/blob/master/UF2/Trinket_Rebug.UF2?raw=true

This is my new "basic UF2" for people who want no pissing around.

Other boards updated tomorrow pending feedback. Trinket & Rebug only at the minute. Source on my git.

With this UF2:
  • Your Trinket / Rebug will look for "payload.bin" OR "start.bin" in SD root and launch automagically.
  • 0 folder not needed
  • nx files not needed
  • No folders will be made
  • If "payload.bin" or "start.bin" is not found, Hekate 4.5 will launch.
  • This is meant for people who don`t want to be pissing around with folders / nx files / etc etc
Hi, I tried it, but when launching Hekate, a bootloader folder on sd card will be created. Is this the expected behavior?

If payload.bin or start.bin isn't found, then hekate boots normally. Therefore if you don't already have a bootloader folder, one will be created. If you have start.bin or payload.bin, no folder will ever get made because hekate doesn't fully boot to make the folders

I ordered a rcmx86 to solder, waiting for the file for the new basic solution for it
mind at the moment mode2 is not working (vol button issues, no flash connection) 100%, but @mattytrog is working on a fix.
if you want to be 101% covered, just install it with only joy stripe connected,so you can boot ofw on power, and cfw on power+vol+

Hi,

one questio regarding your newer version because i‘m still using one of your first releases (with over 10 different modes) and want to change to the new one:

I need a mode with 3 Payloads located in the 0 folder with 1.nx, 2.nx and 3.nx
For the bin i want to use a mode where hekate is not already included because want to have 3 free spaces so i can set all 3 payloads individual.
And i need one where the Payload get‘s increased by hitting the reset button on the trinket chip.

So whicch one wiuld ve the correct mode for me? Regarding your table it‘s 2 or 3 but at 2 hekate is build in if i saw it right and o mode 3 there is the option disable to increase the payload with reset.

Would be really happy if you could help me :)

If there is no mode avaliable at the options i need it i will try to mod it in sourcecode directl y and so build a copy with the exact settings i need. Because of your really detailed comments in source code it‘s very easy to edit (for me at least but i‘m a software developer, mainly for Swift (iOS and macOS) but the basics are mostly the same in all languages :)

Or is it possible to set all 3 payloads even if hekate is build in?

Which hekate is there build in to the Frimware?

The 3 Payloads i want to use are SX OS, atmosphere itself and hekateCT Caer or reiNX.

EDIT: Forgot something: How do i chamge the selected Mode? At the older version i‘m using there was a bit on an offset that needed to be changed but i can‘t find such a offset in your first post/tutorial.
So how do i for example select Mode 5 as the active mode without soldeeing a cable in to the mode increase pin?

Ok. Yes use whatever payload you like. However many you like. There should be a pin table in the op unless I've deleted it.

I'll attack your question when I get home. Driving at the minute. Gimme half hour :)
