If you are on firmware 6.2, no CFW is currently supported and there is no ETA on when any CFW will be supported.
Sorry to ask, ive seen some serials in this post similar to the one in the Switch i just bought.. and seems it is safe to use Fusée Gelée, i fear to do something wrong and get it bricked, so i havent even open it lol.. but my serial is XAW10045023438 can anyone confirm if i can proceed? thanks!
This is probably impossible to answer, but does anyone know if any of the black Friday bundles are patched? I'm not sure when those consoles were made
Since ipatched consoles started showing up as of July and the stock for Black Friday consoles is most likely going to be filled with new units, they are probably patched.

having done the mod on the 3ds xl with success a few months ago! i have now bought my son a nintendo switch (for xmas) neon 2nd hand but brand new boxed! i have checked the firmware and its on 4.0.1 and the serial is XAJ00341XXXXX does this mean i can mod this switch without any problems? is there a tutorial that i might have missed and can someone point me in the right direction please.

That all depends on which CFW you want to use. No, there's really no best CFW out at the moment as they are actively being developed with new features. A basic rundown is that Atmosphere was the first CFW of the scene and will most likely become the breadwinner in the long run while ReiNX was a quick alternative before an official release of Atmosphere became available. SX OS is the oddball being that some of its features are hidden behind a paywall. If you want a personal recommendation, I'm not really the person to ask as I use all 3 for various testing purposes but since all CFW derive from Atmosphere to an extent, its the one I would recommend if I had to.my bad...lol premature posting as usual from me

Sure it is possible. SX claims they will be able to do it but have shown little evidence so far. Just be prepared to fork over cash for a license if they are the first to crack it. It could take some time and I wouldn’t recommend updating to 6.2 anytime soon.
Interesting, last 2 months ago, I called Nintendo to see if my Switch is unlinked successfully and it did, but they told me that Switch was banned after I unlinked, so I was puzzled and didn't saw any ban before unlinked and sold. I use RCM for strictly homebrew only and used clear logs for my safety, no piracy, no XCI/NSP, no LayeredFS, etc.
It is appears that Nintendo gets HARD on hacking now, unlike Wii and Wii U, so no methods are safe to prevent the ban.
I'm looking to buy unpatched Switch and not going to use hack until I could find safe method to not get a ban. I'm thinking about find a way to import my Zelda save that I didn't backup via cloud, without need access to homebrew. Is it hard to find unpatched Switch nowadays?
@JeepX87 while I don’t have any recent experience looking for a Switch from comments I have seen yes it is getting hard. Probably best to look at smaller retailers in smaller towns, or find a well cared for used one.
I really doubt there will ever be a completely safe method to run CFW and online conveniently. This is why I bought a dedicated CFW Switch and keep it in airplane mode always and update offline.
