Homebrew Question Does using LayeredFS mode leave behind anything?

I used layeredfs yesterday, but my jig broke and I couldn't clear my logs with nx-dreport. I didn't crash or get an error code. I wanted to ask if I'm safe to connect to the internet (will I get banned). My internet connection was disabled while in LayeredFS.

From what i have read, layeredfs & dreport are likely culprits of bans regardless if used online/offline especially if the Switch is 5.0 or above.

How would dreport get you banned?

Because Nintendo could have a log of the errors, and if you delete the errors they could know, but anything is assured yet

How would they have a log of the errors if my internet was not even connected?

So, what should be my next move to avoid getting banned? Get a jig and use dreport? Just connect to the internet after playing in layeredfs without clearing logs, even tho no errors were logged? What do I do??

At this time, connecting to the internet after doing what you've already done might get you banned regardless of what you do.

At this point, if you don't want to get banned, don't hack your switch. I'm holding off until the teams working on the CFW have a better understanding of the banning triggers. But if you hack your switch, you have to be ok with getting banned.

Since I didn't have a way to make a new jig, I just turned wi-fi on. So far not banned. Hope for the best. Maybe if I DO get banned, there will be some unbanning methods later on?

It's Simple everything you do is recorded to a Log, when you eventually connect online Nintendo Reads those logs and it tells them your History, unless you Use Dreport and wipe out that log, then Nintendo Says huh? Clear logs? Interesting unless someone has hacked their switch they shouldn't have access to that log, and it becomes clearly obvious the switch was exploited.

Your Next move is just hoping for the best, I'm taking it you did not take a Nand backup before ever touching the switch. In that case you9 have no way of restoring back to a previous state prior to exploiting it. If you can't take the risk of getting banned, you should not be modding any consoles, instead of just reading a tutorial and following along, had you been keeping an eye on the forums reading several threads and getting a clear understanding of what you were doing prior to doing it, you would have been well aware of the risk and what measures needed to be taken to limit that risk.

That's strange, I have used LFS for almost 1 month and haven't been banned.

Edit: I never use flight mode and never clean any logs.

You and like 50 other people, at the very least. LayeredFS is not the ban-worthy devil everyone makes it out to be.

I doubt that cleaning logs would cause banning, maybe Nintendo wont upload our logs, but it's easy to check whether logs have been cleanned illeaglly.

Clearing logs apparently creates a discernable gap in the report. Makes sense.

Whoa there, never said it was illegal to clear them. A violation of their Terms of Service however? You betcha.

Meaning it would just be luck whether you generate those error codes and then subsequently be dealt with the banhammer. Its a rough life for LayeredFS users who want to pay money for Nintendo's online service.

is it layered fs for piracy or layered fs for actually modding games that causes bans?
...then again the dev working on layered fs mentioned he has custom error codes in place for dev purposes since it's not officially released yet so I guess that may be it
