We have no way of knowing an exact date. But I do believe we will have one in january.

Add a "Sometime in January" option to the poll.
 
They tweeted a possible hidden message of "111" (aka 1-11) on twitter so that might just confirm it really is happening tomorrow.
 
It will show up and they will hopefully introduce a 5.0.0 Version and VC ;)
(I'd love if they wouldn't patch meldown and spectre on the switch but I think this will happen too :d)
 
Regarding what could be announced, I'd say a new Pokemon game for Switch, even if not part of the main series, 1-2 other Ninty games (Kirby or something perhaps), possibly VC for Switch and a couple third party games (could even be another SMT game or P5 finally giving me reason to get a Switch)...

Will it happen tomorrow? I highly doubt it as it probably would've been announced by now (Nintendo trolling everyone has been hilarious though). Will some form of a direct happen this month? I definitely think so.
 
a writer on comics, who has been reliable in the past, has been told by two of his sources that Nintendo knows about the direct and 5.0.0 rumors. They (nintendo) have been slipping small leaks ever since, are having a nice laugh and enjoying the free hype and craziness of thier fans.

If his sources are correct, then I assume Nintendo is delaying officially announcing a direct and a press release to drive up hype a while longer...why? Because that's what I would. Free advisting and pr by crazied fans who only know partial truthes?, why not! They just need to be careful not to let it drag too long or else they may angry thier projected user base
