I want to ask someone to write to that guy who developed MaiDumpTool, as the future of Vitamin is unclear and probably its development is stopped completely.
Anyway the problem is that there are some types of games which have *.suprx files which doesn't seem to be stripped of DRM encryption during dumping process, some examples are
- All versions of Jak and Daxter
- All versions of Ratchet & Clank
After dump Jack & Dexter has JakConfig.suprx file in the root of the app folder(not in sce_module folder) and Ratchet & Clank has RcConfig.suprx file in it's root folder also, so that files are not stripped as I said,
and as you see the files structure seems to be similar in both set of games.
Neither Vitamin 2.0 nor MaiDumpTool V233.1 are able to dump that kind of games correctly yet.
So could someone write to that guy and ask him if he at least could take this info in consideration, maybe this is not a big deal at all...
I don't know may be this would fix a lot of more games also.

Wait for proper scene dumps or until Henkaku is open source (full kernel access and possibly cfw by someone), as Vitamin and Mai cannot do 1:1 dumps

I went ahead and dumped one of my games with MaiDumpTool V233.1 and it seems to have worked.
The only problem I have is how to actually transfer the dump from the Vita. I'm presented with the contents of an unpacked VPK, and the only way I can think to transfer it to my PC is via FTP, which is unbearably slow. QCMA won't work because it's a Vita -> PC transfer.

Surely people aren't transferring all of their dumps via FTP, so what am I missing?

Move the "mai" folder to pspemu/PSP/SAVEDATA/[PSPgameID], and then use content manager to transfer the save to your PC. The folder will then be into [folderWhereQCMASavesYourBackups]/PSAVEDATA/[PSNID]/[PSPgameID].
If you don't have any PSP game, simply download Ape Quest's Demo from the PSN and launch it once.

● can be installed directly from the game folder
● When installing the tool holder can choose to install from a file or pack their own small VPK (because the packaging too slow 2,333,333)

Question about these two things.
Is the install quicker because it doesn't have to extract from VPK? Does it just move the game files and use the small vpk to install to the correct location vita? If so this won't require double space.

Seems to be a problem getting PSP demos on Vita lately. None of the demos in the shop even show up on the Vita store, and you can't send any from your browser to the Vita.
Wound up just buying Patapon. $5 is $5.

But they do, you just were looking for the wrong things...

Some demos like Ape Quest Starter Pack need to be transfered from a PS3, while others like Petz Saddle demo show up just fine by searching the game.

Anyways you could have simply downloaded any random PSP savedata from the net since they aren't locked to profiles :/

I dumped a game with MaiDumpTool, and now can't install it - it says "can't install folder uxo:mai/PCSB00346"

I found a few people on the net but not a single solution except for one, but that was because he downloaded it and forgot to extract the archive. But I dumped mine, so that isn't my issue.

Does anyone know the answer?

Edit: I worked it out in case anyone else has the same problem. You have to insert the cartridge and let it install BEFORE opening MaiDumpTool. Then the dump takes half an hour instead of a few minutes, and the installation actually works.
