Don't make me wack people with my ban stick *shakes fist*
Simmer down people.

If you hold a proper discussion where you aren't throwing shit both ways then this topic will remain open.

Now back on topic:

I agree that people who own both a DS and a PSP have more 'right' then a person who owns only one to knock a certain console. I own both and I think they're both great, they both focus on something different and if they were combined into one handheld it would be the most awesome handheld to grace god's green earth.

... if they were combined into one handheld it would be the most awesome handheld to grace god's green earth.

So in your oppinion the "ultimate" handheld would be a DS with a bigger screen and better grafics or a PSP with a TS.

If Sony does the same marketing on the PSP just like they are now doing with the PS3, I`m sure we`ll see the following PSP with a Touch-Screen.

I mean what they are doing is just ridiculous. They are copiing Nintendo and they don`t even try to hide it.

Copying yeah i guess u can say that, but they have to what else do they have besides tired sequals. Nobody can't say anything yet really untill it they come out in a few months, so in the meantime we can only hope that nintendo system will do what it's supposed to an that's get all the lazy people in this country in shape

The only thing Sony did to 'copy' the wii was the tilt sensor in the controller. Which is nothing major, in fact it's kind of copying microsoft to begin with. I used to have a microsoft controller about 10 years ago with a title sensor, it made for some fun Motorcross Maddness 2
smile.gif
But, it was really a gimmick, the thing it lacked was rumble, tilt with no rumble makes it feel like an airy fairy control scheme. PS3 doesn't have rumble so I'm not to worried about them copying the tilt sensor.

But if you look at the console hardware Sony sports, or their games, or ad campaign they aren't copying nintendo at all.

And about the sequels comment. Have a look at some Nintendo Wii titles. I'll bold all the original IPs (list taken from vooks.net):

QUOTE
- Trauma Center: Second Opinion (Atlus)
- Elebits (Konami)
- Necro-Nesia (Spike)
- Super Monkey Ball: Uki Uki Party Daishuugou (Sega)
- Swing Golf Panya (Tecmo)
- Wing Island (Hudson)
- Kororinpa (Hudson)
- SD Gundam Revolution (Namco Bandai)
- Tatsujin Festival (Namco Bandai)
- Tamagotchi no Pika Pika Daitouryou! (Namco Bandai)
- Red Steel (Ubi)
- Wii Sports (Nintendo)
- Odoru Made in Wario (WarioWare Smooth Moves) (Nintendo)
- The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Nintendo)
- My First Wii (Nintendo)
- Dragon Quest Swords
- Sword of Legendia (Namco Bandai)
- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (Square Enix)
- "Gun Shooting" (presumably Virtua Cop) (Sega)
- Pac-Man Carnival (Namco Bandai)
- Gundam (Namco Bandai)
- Bomberman Land (Hudson)
- Legend of the River King (Natsume)
- Harvest Moon (Natsume)
- Rayman (Ubisoft)
- Excite Truck (January) (Nintendo (this is kind of a sequel though)
- Fire Emblem (February) (Nintendo)
- Wii Big Brain Academy (Spring) (Nintendo)
- Disaster (Spring) (Nintendo)
- Project HAMMER (Nintendo)
- Super Paper Mario (former GC title) (Nintendo)
- Wii Music 2007 (Nintendo)
- Super Mario Galaxy (Nintendo)
- Smash Bros X (HAL/Nintendo)
- Battalion Wars 2 (Nintendo)
- Donkey Kong Barrel Jet Race (former GC title) (Nintendo)
- Forever Blue (Nintendo)
- Mario Strikers Charged (Nintendo)
- Mario Party 8 (Nintendo)
- Metroid Prime 3 Corruption (Nintendo)
- Eye Shield 21 (Nintendo)
- Animal Crossing (Nintendo)
- Kirby (presumably former GC title) (Nintendo)

half of those are weird japanese games we'll never see. I still see a lot of sequels and spinoffs there....

Opium, you forget about the "Virtual Console" thing. Sony is offering Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx downloads. Sound familiar?

That would be completely up to SEGA and Hudson, it's not really taking anything from nintendo. If they started offering SNES downloads I'd be worried

Shall we say virtual console copys Xbox arcade?

I beleive Nintendo unveiled the VC long before much was known about the new Xbox Live; and even then, you can't really compare them. XBLA is more like steam than the VC. As for Sega and Hudson, I guarntee you they were approached by Sony, not the other way around.

Actually the tilt technology belongs to nintendo, cause i remember a old game called yoshi tilt n tumble, and the other being wario ware touched for gba. These games are really set apart from the regular gba games, because the tilt tech was made into the cart making the rom useless since u can't play it without it.

Nintendo games with tilt:
Kirby Tilt n Tumble
Yoshi Topsi Turvy (Yoshi's Universal Gravitation in EU)
Wario Ware Twisted

Of course, Nintendo doesn't own the tech entirely. They have some patents on it, but other stuff they don't. The technology that Sony is using is not patented by Nintendo.

Also, Guitar hero used similar tech, not patented by Nintendo.

As far as I know, Sony mentioned this downloadable games before SEGA confirmed it.

And this tilt-sensors was announced just after Nintendo announced the Wiimote and the Nunchack, so in my oppinion it`s obvious, that it is a cheap copy from Nintendo or it's a reaktion of Nintendos announcement.

and the funny thing is, the PC is supposed to be heaps more powerful than console systems. I have a now aging 6600gt and A64 system, but I'm sure if I upgrade to the newest performance video card the graphics won't be that much better than what I get now from the latest games, besides being able to run them at ridiculous resolutions/AA and high frame rates.
PC hardware is powerful, but where are the *really* good looking games?

Gambia, The
I hate fanboys on all sides. In my opinion, it´s just about the games. Now let me tell you that I will get both, Ps3 and Wii, cause on both systems there are franchises I absolutly love and don´t wanna miss (Zelda and such on wii, MGS and Final Fantasy on PS3 for example). I don´t get why some people always try to prove others that "their" system is the best, there´s something called personal taste guys. I also don´t run around and diss the X-Box, just cause I don´t find any appealing games for me on that one, no, I respect people who own one and have fun with the games, instead of telling them that they´re playing on a shitty console or such.

Btw about the Sony copying nintendo thingie, look up the patent for the prototype of the sixaxis, it´s dated 1999. There´s more sense in arguing if Sony copied it of MS and also, in my opinion Sony and Nintendo have 2 way too different concepts with their controllers, considering on the technical side they are working entirely different and that Sony brought it in as a support for games and Nintendo builts their entire system on it.

But I guess some fanboys simply need stuff to brag about, so trying to prove them wrong won´t be of much use ....

Then why revive this old-ass, dead thread? Surely not to throw more fucking oil on the fucking flames, huh?

You could've waited until you had at least reached ten posts to do this kind of shit.
