There wasn't an iso folder, so i created one but still dont see the game on the psp... should it show up under the "games" tab?

greetings... just want to ask if psp-3000 6.60 can be permanently softmod? since in the first post it mentioned that "(OPTIONAL) To test or install the 6.60 permanent patch, run the CIPL Flasher on your PSP. Again, remember that this only works on the PSP 1000 and earlier 2000 models."
It can be "permanently" softmodded, but you need to re-activate the softmod each time you start the PSP up (from a full power down).

If you want it to start into hacked mode automatically every time you can try a downgrade to 6.20 and use the 6.20 permanent patch.

Hey I need help to find out what motherboard my friend's PSP 2000 running so I can install some homebrew on it but since neither one of us know what it's on (the motherboard) I don't wanna just pop on any ol' firmmware on without causing it to brick on us. All in all is there a easy way to find what motherboard it's on via pc or program on the psp??

Sorry if it was in a spoiler it won't show on my PSP 1000

You can use PSP Ident, but that doesn't matter since the 6.20 hack works on every PSP 2000.

"Downgrading a 6.60 PSP to 6.20"
Then
"6.20 PRO (permanent) installation."

hi, so my problem is that when I load the Pro Update, it goes black. I just bought a refurbrished psp 2000 with 6.60.
I've seen in videos that after you load it, some words should appear, but mine is blank.

On the memory stick, rename the /seplugins/ folder to something else (to disable all the old plugins).

I have a psp Go that has a crack in the bottom port. It charges fine but the USB connection doesn't work at all. It isn't a driver issue.

Is it possible to run the softmod installation from an M2 memory card instead of the internal storage? I have no way of getting the files on the internal space, but can buy a usb adapter for the m2, and then use ftp clients or whatever for further transfers.

OR

Is there a signed file manager homebrew that can run from the memory card, that will allow me to transfer the needed files to the internal space? I just have to do this to get the initial softmod running, then I can transfer stuff easily.

I don't have the memory card yet so I can't try anything out at the moment.

Is there any difference between using the Update app and Fast Recovery app to reapply a temporary CFW besides being faster? I've been using update instead of Fast Recovery all this time and am wondering if I've caused any unnecessary wear and tear on the system by doing that.

I don't have a Go to test, but the last I've heard of issues with running stuff from M2 was things that were hardcoding ms0 reading (which actually points to the internal storage of the Go) when they needed to be read from ms1 (which is the memory stick on the Go, and doesn't exist on the earlier models as ms0 is their memory stick and flash0-3 are their firmware storage spaces).

The modern launchers and stuff fixed those issues a while back, you'd likely only run into some issues with older homebrew, and once it's hacked you can use PSP Filer (accesses flash, cannot be signed) or some other file manager to copy folders from M2 to the internal.

I don't know if the update program actually re-writes the files onto flash, or if it just checks. If it r-writes, then yes that will wear down the flash storage. If it just checks that they exist before moving to the next, then no.

Thanks for the reply! When you say "launchers" do you mean the firmware updater / perm patches and such? That'd be great. :D And yes, after it's hacked I can just put stuff on the M2 through the usb adapter then PSP Filer it onto the internal if needed. I'm just worried about the actual softmodding process and if it can be ran from ms1:/PSP/x instead of the normal ms0:/. I apologize if you are answering the same question twice... haha.

This damn seller on eBay made a sneaky description and somehow got out of refunding me for this go, so I'm trying to see if I could possibly use it before reselling it with the proper problems listed... It's a slower process but the condition (other than the whole usb thing) is near perfect.

Yeah, the Go was the most recent model to be hacked, so at first some things didn't respond well to running off of it's memory stick (and needed to be run on internal storage), now the only things that still need to be run from internal storage are older homebrews, the CFW installers work fine.
