Once again Bethesda has released a great game full of bugs. Once again Bethesda has released a patch to fix the bugs. Once again the patch has introduced new bugs! It seems to most that Bethesda is building a reputation of releasing buggy software and attempting to fix it until they eventually abandon it all together.

The version 1.2 Skyrim patch was released on Monday to PS3 users. By the time you read this the patch should have already been released for the 360 and Steam. According to the Bethesda official Forum, the patch is causing more problems than good. Just as with Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition (or a stock Fallout 3 with the 5 DLC add-ons), Skyrim is suffering from extreme lag as the save file builds in size. This issue was ignored by Bethesda in regards to Fallout 3, in fact to this day users continue to complain about it. The Skyrim v1.2 patch was designed to fix this issue, and many users were thrilled that Bethesda was finally stepping up. Unfortunately, v1.2 users are complaining that the save file lag is still present. Additionally they are experiencing backwards-flying dragons and a resistance to damage issue. The patch is not mandatory and users are being told to refuse downloading it at this time.

Please let us know how you feel about Bethesda and this save-file lag/crashing issue.

Jeez. I respect bethesda for the most part but releasing buggy games is a big no-no. Basically releasing work before it's finished, then going back and fixing problems people notice first

its sad that with bethesda software i have to wait to see what the problems are. i wanted to try out skyrim on release day but i knew it would be littered with bugs. i still haven't grabbed any of the fallout 3 DLC because of the fact that they first ignored the problem and later said the problem existed but they were going to focus on patching old ps3 software. =/

I've been playing it on PS3 since the first week Skyrim launched. Save lag is present but almost entirely gone as of 1.2
The dragon glitch was present BEFORE 1.2.... Idk where people are getting this. Unless they just didn't play the main quest until NOW...

The game is still completely playable.... Just enjoy it. I have 50+ hours already and I don't mind a lag spike here or there.

Yes, it is quite sad how Bethesda handles things, but take it from someone who put over 1,000 hours into Fallout 3 and New Vegas combined; only 1 FO3 dlc was really worth it, Point Lookout,

Quite true. Still I think that the Broken Steel was the best story wise since the game kinda gets left on hold after the main quest..

I'd like to see a Bethesda game without a crippled engine in the beginning.. Also making a patch which disables multicore processors for Fallout 3 was a major letdown for me.. "Imagine that, I have to for the game to use only 2 cores, otherwise the script crashes after a few seconds of gameplay"..

There's supposedly going to be a ton of DLC for Skryim.... And so far all I have to say to that is, there damn well better be!!! The stories in Oblivion were much longer, taking anywhere from 4-10 hours depending on the quest line you were doing.

I started up the fighters guild (Companions) last night and finished it that same night. Maybe took me 2 hours tops. Where in Oblivion the fighters guild was probably the shortest and took much longer to finish! It's not just that one quest line either. The only one I have yet to finish is the Mage's College, but each of the one's I have done have taken me 4 hours at MOST.

I'm very disappointed in that aspect, but almost every other part of the game is great. I've already had some very enjoyable moments just wandering the around the large map of Skyrim.

I've played 55 hours now on the PC, and had a few CTD's. No real gamebreaking bugs though, the occasional Mammoth dropping from the sky and horse stuck in the ground, but nothing really irritating.

I haven't had much issue after the 1.2 patch, it's actually running a little smoother.
There's still some frame rate issues here and there, but not as much as before.

I just defeated Alduin, and I'm about to start on The college of Winterhold quest.

I'm getting this game tomorrow finally, too bad to hear about all these glitches. I guess I won't update it until I hear that everything has been fixed.

Unfortunately, these kind of bugs are inevitable for the immensely huge games they create.

The backwards flying dragon thing sounds pretty awesome, though.

As mentioned earlier, those bugs don't actually affect the gaming experience that bad.
Sure, there are some glitches that makes dragons go backward and that make the game lag because the save file is big.

This is a huge game. While they may not have managed to fix the save lag issue (though some people report it wasn't as bad as before), they will fix it for good in a future update.

I've played this game for quite some time now and haven't experienced any major bugs so far (ones which make it unplayable). Just a few items randomly flying off in one direction when I step on them and 1 (just 1) giant appear out of the sky. Apart from that no problems.

Great game!
