Nah, the current tutorial still works just fine, and he just might show up again, you know. I've updated his filetrip PRO postings to B8 (he didn't uncheck the "allow edits" box). Yeah, that's true.
It's just that this guide was suppose to be noob friendly, and not having it updated with the latest info will cause a bit of confusion for people new to the psp scene.
But yeah, someone should copy and paste his tutorial and update the info

I just bought a used PSP-1004 (swedish model) and I tried following this guide but got stuck on the first step, downgrading to original 5.00. When I tried to downgrade with hellcat this happened:
I was wondering, do I need to use european firmwares since this is a european PSP, or is something else wrong? The firmware I'm on right now is 5.50 GEN-B (Full)

And the program exits...
I read while searching around for a solution something about upgrading to 5.50 GEN-D and then going to another firmware, but can't get the installation to work for that either... starting to think a Pandora battery may be the way to go... but I really have no clue at all about this stuff so really wouldn't know where to start with that either... but I believe I can get the battery to become a Pandora battery and prepare a MMS...
