I think both the DS phat and lite were pretty faulty, actually i think they are both the worse designed handhelds that nintendo ever developed, ohh not worse than virtual boy, but that wasnt even portable. Dont take me wrong i do love the DS but the way i see it: the phat model had wierd edges around the joypad that hurt your palms, really looks like a prototype, the click buttons were not a good idea, and when you close the screen down it really didnt flush, plus it was heavy. then the ds lite came around and solved some of the problems, it is lighter, the stylus is great and the buttons were push instead of click ... but the dpad is really faulty and terrible to use, unless you mod it you wont be able to play street fighter with it, really doesnt work well, and theres no reason for it .. some ppl say its cause its a smaller dpad but i compared it with my gameboy advance 1st generation and its about the same size. This is a big flaw in my opinion, another big flaw is the edges of the lower part of the ds, they are straight corners that, again, really hurt your hands while holding the handheld for long. So i say the ds lite is all about looks, rip off of apple's macbook look, but sure looks pretty. Plus why the hell didnt it come with a thumb pad? playing mario 64 and metroid prime with the stylus sucks cause yull have to hold your ds in a wierd way. Well i hope nintendo does a better job this time, especially in the ergonomics part of making a console, and hopefully, althought i really think they wont, let the slot 2 feature there still.
Let's pray and see.
