I finally popped out of a bad depression and have been getting around to projects I wasn't feeling up to. I dug around and got all of my 360's out. The 2 on the left are RRoD, and I can't get a controller working so far. I guess my next move is finding a controller and getting parts for repair. If anyone has any advice or tips I'm all ears. I admittedly haven't done the most research since I didn't even know if I had a working console yet

Most likely if they are RROD, then simply "ordering parts" won't help. Most likely they will need motherboard/CPU/GPU Reflowed with a reflow machine. You can buy a reflow machine and try it yourself, but for the price, it'd be cheaper to just buy another used working X360 unit. Good luck.

Or send it in to a console modding/repair service to get it reballed, however, it will cost you money. You'll likely be better off getting another used unit.

Thanks for the responses! I'm probably confusing some of the old "quick-fixes" for an actual repair. I'll just take those apart and play with them for fun, see what I can salvage or practice my soldering. Maybe try to find a cheap lot of broken stuff on ebay.

The two that are working boot to one of the more modern dashboards that I remember, but I haven't touched them in probably 15 years. As soon as I manage to get a controller to them and get an exact firmware I'll start doing my real research

eta: the elite is on dashboard 2.0.17526.0. I'm gonna look into this before checking the other one. Thanks again!
