Hi,

here's a work in progress decompilation / port of OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast,
it's being ported to PS5, MacOS (arm) and Switch, Xbox (unstested)

It's still not 100% decompiled / ported so there will be bugs, from my testing so farOutRun 2 SP runs can remain stuck at the end of the game,
Some menus are incorrect, and some options do not work yet, but most of the game is already playable and enjoyable
Once the decompilation / port is complete and the remaining issues are fixed, enhancements from at least https://github.com/emoose/OutRun2006Tweaks will be added.

To get it working:

Create the following folder on your SD card:

/switch/outrun2/

Copy OutRun2006-NX.nro into this folder.

Then copy the Steam version of OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast into:

/switch/outrun2/

The Steam version contains a small ~1 MB OR2006C2C.EXE file.

Our build extracts the required content from this file, so we do not need to redistribute licensed game data.

Launch the NRO normally. On the first run, a message will appear indicating whether the extraction was successful or if an error occurred.

I still don't understand why SEGA didn't re-release this game for Switch. It's incredible; 20 years old and it still looks great.

Amazing Work! Please don't abandon the project - This is already a great start!

Probably because of the Ferrari licenses

I can test it on a Xbox Series if you can compile it.
Thanks, I'll get back when it's 100% proper decompiled

There are no car sounds. But running and looking great so far. So crisp.
Yeah escept for musci some sounds are strangely low, it'll be checked

I too have been running it on the psp emulator, and this version works great. It felt much more responsive than the psp version ive been playing. I wouldn't have guessed the game wasn't 100% complete from this release without being told. Excellent port, thanks!!

I have this game running on the PSP emulator on my Nvidia Shield TV Pro at 1080p and 60fps. What settings did you use on your emu?

My only issue is that the game stutters whenever I reach a new zone or checkpoint. The sound crackles and it skips a frame or two, but after that everything runs fine again. I've yet to test this switch port, I want to do so soon.

I was running the psp emulator on my switch. I get sound crackling every so often as well. It helped when I set the setting under the sound menu to Smooth Playback. The graphics I have set to 3x psp, which Im guessing is 720p as after that it shows 1080p next to 4x psp. I hadnt considered running the emulator on my Nvidia shield tv. I had trouble getting controllers to work. I figured it was the bluetooth and usb 3.0 conflicting

I had the same controller Issue but I bought this usb cable
and this 8bitdo adapter and it works much more stable now.
If you ever get to test and compare it to your TV shield let me know if you prefer this switch port. Thanks.

Thanks! Thats a great idea to use an extension, and a dongle away from the shield. I had originally intended on using it as a lightweight emulation machine. But the controller issues and mappings (accidentally kicking me out of the game for example).
