The difference to me is night and day, so I'm unbothered by the lack of OLED.

The temptation is high, but no Switch 2 and thus no reason to pre-order. I'm not one to play remakes or remasters and the original was already incredible enough; if a hardware project or game mod enables using a mic in the original game like it will be in the remake, that's all I really need. And the cute ocarina instrument, because why not.

I played it back in the day on my N64 and was totally enthralled so I am very interested in what N is going to change and why.....From what I have seen so far as a lifelong fan it looks exactly how my minds eye would remember it if I hadnt played the 3ds one recently - They nailed the StarFox remake so I have no fears this wont be a total win too....

I preordered the physical version. I have no doubt I'll get my money's worth considering how many times I've replayed OoT over the years. Switch 2 games are fucking overpriced though and it hurts my wallet every time. They're like 90 bucks where I live.

Surprised to see none have mentioned pre-ordering both yet: one for the collection, and one to install to internal storage for speedruns.

I don't have a Switch 2 nor I plan to, though I might end playing this game on another person's switch 2. I think the original game still will be my favorite one, but I am curious to try the remake.

Besides, my favorite way of playing OoT has been through a romhack called "Demon's Quest" that adds combat nuance, new patterns increases difficulty and a option for permadeath. The remake won't have all that :c

I preordered four copies to lock-in the shiny foil first print to use as gifts.

I've seen the future. The one I keep for myself gets dropped down an air vent by my friend, leading me to get stabbed when a corporate stan realizes it's on my hacked Switch 2. Hell of a way to go, but at least I'll play OOT first.

I Hope the exact opposite.
I hope the hack stall until Ocarina is out, to let ppl update their console for µSDExpress and THEN boom full jailbreak, Nintendo issue a firmware update but too late.

I would add that Switch 2 is still receiving major features like VRR in 23.0.0 so it would be better to sail on a separate firmware route than the official AFTER the Switch 2 is fully functional

I don't get how that would be funny, but it surely would infuriate Nintendo as this is their number one Nintendo game of 2026.
