The thing I don't like about NS2 Editions are the covers, they look so ugly as if it were ads, but on the bright side it comes with extra content and improvements.

Unfortunately the ugliness is the distinct aspect of it. All Nintendo Switch 2 releases suffer with the large red banner across the top, so that's less box art already. The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition blurb at the bottom doesn't make it any better, but it is at least transparent, so you still see some of the box art. I have to put partial blame on the consumer for not reading the back of the game boxes though. Probably wouldn't have to have the blurb on the front, if more people actually cared about what they were buying more thoroughly. Some stores don't allow you to pick the packaging up though, instead they are stuck behind plastic casing and secured to the shelf. While differing systems can still make it possible to view the back, I have seen some that don't. Due to this, I do kind of get the benefit of having the blurb on the front in a situation like that. Could also just be that Nintendo really didn't want people to confuse the types of physical releases, since they all have the large red banner already. I don't feel we needed another situation where we couldn't distinguish between standard Nintendo DS / 3DS releases, and those that were enhanced for the Nintendo DSi / New 3DS. New Nintendo 3DS releases had a large white banner across the box too.

I took another look at the YouTuber's site mentioned in my earlier post. I don't think I was really off or that far behind realistically speaking. I missed only a small handful of releases that are actually out right now, but based on the large list I'm building related to the ones missing in my list, they are all pre-orders. Which means these had to have been just posted not that long ago. Places like Amazon and what not would have had something to work with, if these were that widespread and known, but nothing like these ever came up during my searches. I don't trust this source for box art though, because many of the pages use blurry images. I'll try and outsource for better images. Most of them appear to just be Nintendo Switch 2 Editions so far. I haven't even checked the game key card section. So if anyone is thinking I'm about to balance the playing field of physical releases and game key cards, hold your horses lol. The site combines full, exclusive, releases with Nintendo Switch 2 Editions. The Game Key Card section literally outnumbers both even combined. You can just imagine how much larger that will be for any I missed. The site doesn't cover every release either from what I could tell, but it does cover a lot. I doubt full releases will topple game key cards.

It is a given that this thread will lag behind a little as publishers are deliberately using misleading box covers and sometimes it's not clear what type of physical cartridge until actual release time.

98% - 99% of these are all pre-orders, so these are pretty fresh. Expect possible distribution changes (if a game becomes a game key card as an example). Example of this, Brigandine Abyss has box art indicating it's a full release, but later box art reveals it's a game key card release. Before someone gets too excited, keep in mind I haven't gotten to the game key cards list yet, the list below is not an indicator that there will be more full, proper, releases toppling game key cards, or getting close to doing so.

Well, I ended up buying Shenmue 3 Enhanced on VGP along some NS1 games.

It's cheaper to buy from Canada (VGP) than from retailers here in England, and I do quite like the US covers a bit more than the EU ones... At the end of the day it doesn't matter too much (I'm not that OCD about it).

That's a lot of empty boxes for early Christmas buyers. 🤣

I was hoping for a better update (more full releases).

The last update I provided has more physical releases. Like I said in that post though, game key cards are still going to topple the lists. I'm still not done adding games yet for the categories. I just had to break these lists down, since I lack the compute needed to process images in bulk super fast. Took me (more like my computer itself) 12+ hours just to parse the images from the game key card list provided lol. I find it worth it for your guys and gals, but yea.... Would be nice to upgrade to a better computer for shit like this lol.

I mean, they're not empty boxes, it's a lot better than download codes (which are only useful on sale when I need new cases, I have like 4 copies of Kitaria fables because of that)

I do like the Code in a Box releases just for that one reason, and to swap Switch 2 games into Switch 1 clear cases, but if it becomes too many I just won't have enough.
