Please use this patch only if you own the original game.
You use this patch at your own risk.
Installing this patch applies the following changes.
1. Higher frame rate
- Gameplay, originally limited to 30 FPS, now runs at up to 60 FPS.
- Game speed and timers are identical to the original.
- On DSi and later models, enabling the 133MHz CPU clock mode gives more stable performance.
- The frame rate may drop in some heavy scenes.
- Systems running at the standard clock (67MHz) such as NDS, NDS Lite and DSpico also get a certain level of performance improvement, with higher frame rates in less demanding scenes.
2. Km/h speed display
- On the Options screen, press L/R to select the Km/h speed display. Mph can still be selected.
- It is not just a label change; the speed is shown in actual Km/h.
3. New controller mappings: the following control types were added under Options > Control Settings.
- PAD A : the original control setting.
- PAD B : (B) Accelerate / (Y) Brake / (R) Shift up / (L) Shift down
- PAD C : (R) Accelerate / (L) Brake / (Y) Shift up / (B) Shift down
- Menus such as the pause menu always use the original buttons, regardless of this setting.
- The settings from 2 and 3 are stored in the save file and kept for the next launch.
4. Rumble support
- Vibration is output on car collisions, drifting, wheelspin at the start, hard braking, etc.
- Works on NDS and NDS Lite with a Rumble Pak inserted, or in emulators with Rumble Pak emulation enabled.
(Not supported on DSi and 3DS, which have no GBA slot.)
- No setting is required; it activates automatically when a Rumble Pak is detected during a race.
- Emulator example (melonDS 1.0 or later): File > Insert add-on cart > Rumble Pak
(Select a rumble-capable gamepad under Config > Input and hotkeys.)
Please refer to Installation.txt within the file for detailed installation instructions.
