When I noticed how some homebrew application forwarders have custom banners and animation, it made me lead to this theory question

What can I use to turn the regular homebrew channel banner and flip everything vertically, or in basic terms, make it upside down?

Here's a concept I did on an art tool, which is an expected result:

I also wanted to post this so that I can better understand how BRLYT/BRLAN files work for custom forwarder Wii Channels. Heck even try making some of my own, if that's possible.

Let me know if there is a way I can try accomplishing this goal, or if this is something that interests you. You're help will be aappreciated.

Wow, mate thanks a lot. You made a great work and thanks for taking the time of create the time for the detailed tutorial.

People as you made this scene a great place
Thank you!! I thought it was a fun idea and I've been having fun with forwarders; I've always thought the animation side of things has been obscured from most ppl with no proper tutorial online (that I've seen anyway) so I'm glad you appreciate it. :)

Update: v1.0.0 did not work on Wii U. This version splits the release into two WADs for each system.

https://github.com/cmyksoda/hbc-upside-down/releases/tag/v1.0.1
Open the wad using modmii to modify it and update it's nandloader to either opendolboot's (generally recommended) or ohbc's (try it if ODB's doesn't work, or maybe in this case it might be preferred since this is actually the HBC) and you should be able to have 1 wad that works on both consoles

Edit: be sure to test to confirm it behaves as expected. In some rare cases you may run into issues in which case either u would actually need 2 separate versions, or adjust the main dol's entrypoint. I'm assuming this is the standard HBC inside so in theory you shouldn't encounter any issues.

Thank you! I will try this out and report back :)

I've made other forwarders before but never HBC ones hehe so I appreciate your advice. Going to try ODB first since this is just a forwarder (despite its appearance it does not contain the HBC inside)

Oh cool. BTW you can also create different kinds of forwarder dols using modmii classic's advanced downloads menu, then afterwards open a wad with modmii and modify it to inject the dol you created and make other changes if u want. Like you'd probably want confirm/apply dvd access and ahbprot patches, IOS58, nandloader, fakesigned, or whatever other customizations you want to make
