Gaming 8 Player mod for Mario Kart Deluxe 8 on Switch 1?

Hey everyone.
Did anyone of you hear something about a mod for Switch 1 to enable the 8 player mode for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?

I don't believe so, and I don't think there will be for some time, if at all. If it is something that could be ripped from the Switch 2 update and implemented in the Switch 1 version, I doubt it will be any time soon. Not to mention the performance of the Switch 1 already runs at 30fps when having 3-4 players, so I don't think it would run too well.

I don't think the Switch 1 can handle 8 player mode.

I think they use the same update files. But not sure if Switch 2 specific data is on a separate partition encrypted with different keys or something, I don't know if anybody has looked into this...

The latest update is 4.0.0, the nsp is floating around if anybody wants to look into if the data is there and if it's possible to enable 8 player mode on the Switch 1. It would be interesting if it's possible.
It would probably lag though. CTGP Deluxe already lags on a few of the tracks with just 2 players. And lags badly with 3. Maybe those tracks are really unoptimized, but still, 8 players is a lot to ask of the Switch 1.

Some googling suggests 4 player splitscreen runs at 30 FPS locked (even with the latest update on Switch 2, for some reason they didn't fix that)
So maybe 8 player would run at 15 or 20 locked. Playable, but not great.

Personally, I don't think I could play 8 player splitscreen without a massive projector screen. The individual player screens are so small lol. I'd give it a try if I get the chance though.
