Hi guys i have a Nintendo DSi, i dissasembled it just so i could know how, i only seperated the two shells though, just so i could look at the internals, later after i put it back together and turned it on to make sure everything was working, as i hit the l trigger, it sort of snapped into place? then when i use the L trigger, i have to press it really hard, and even then it still sometimes doesnt work, i tried cleaning it, making sure everything in that assembly was lined up, but it still has the problem, Cleaning it worked for a little bit though, but returned later. any help would be greatly appreciated.

The DS Triggers are contact buttons often made of cheapo metal, internally, corrosion eats the metal that closes the circuit with the external metal membrane/round cap, and the only way to fix this is by an entire button replacement.

It obky worked for a while because minerals in cleaners beidged what's left from the internal contact with outer metal membrane. It's not a permanent solution.

Again, corrosion (from humidity, sweat, simple galvanic reaction) eats out the internal button contact killing the circuit at mechanical level. Please replace your button altogether!
