Is there a way to extract 'app.pkg' backup up from disc to usb?

After looking around I am bewildered that I have not been able to find a PC tool to extract pkg's extracted from disc. Does one exist?

Yes, actually I have been making one for the last 2 days and it works great for upacking/repacking/merging/batch repacking/verifying game to updates/file extraction and repack/showing embedded files or extracting single files from the pkg. Also it can dump icon and game background easy so I use that for making wallapers.

It's still being worked on so I've still got stuff to add and then theme it to a nice black or deep purple with fancy buttons. Probably I'll be finished this week and then release it.

What's good about this is there's no need to type anything, create files or anything - it's all done with a mouse. I wanted to repack black ops to remove all the foreign movies and audio and merge the update and used this, it got the game pkg down to 9.76GB and it works perfect.

If you mean from the PS4 itself, ITEMZFLOW game manager will do that for you.

No, because (I believe) we don't have the key(s) for that.
That's why the PS4 has to decrypt and extract that pkg, so that we can dump and the decrypt the files, while the game is mounted/running.

Once done, we can fake sign it and repack it into a fake pkg.

OK fair enough, I don't have any original disks and didn't know they even contained a pkg file. I guess you just need to install then dump if you can't dump directly from the disc.

For original non fake pkg, like updates and things, yes you need to do it on the console and have a valid licence for the content. I'm not sure that it's possible to extract those key though or if anyone knows how to do it, but for sure they are on the console and tied to the licence so you can decrypt the files in the pkg. l know on ps3 you needed riff/rap/act files to decrypt stuff, PS4 probably has something similar - maybe ask someone that knows the inner workings, but nobody on this site to my knowledge knows how so probably best to join some discord server where the devs hang out and ask there.

It's not easy to obtain the needed keys to do this.
There are people who have them, that's how we got the latest games/updates backported, even though no JBs existed on those FWs back then, to decrypt these games/updates.
To my knowledge, these keys are not leaked publicly and I don't know of there are ways to do it by software by now.
Initially they were obtained by optical extraction from a decapped APU.

Well they had to be connected to PSN to download the games so they would have been on the latest firmware to do that, then they downgrade the ps4 afterwards and dump the games. I'm speculating because I don't know, I am just happy these guys exist, keep the information private so the exploit doesn't get burned and am happy they backport games for us.
