China has a ton of bakeries that make all kinds of stuff, and Shanghai is the most cosmopolitan of their cities so there's a ton of foreign influences and cuisine so while it's unusual, it's not impossible.in.. shanghai?? Toast Hawaii????

But yeah, my first encounter with toast Hawaii was a bit of a culture shock. I thought it was a ham and cheese sandwich. I thought the round red thing on top was a cherry tomato. Imagine my surprise.
