And i was the guy who interested in. That pre-patched iso now become fully complete translation.. Maybe its not a perfect translation but overall it covers the crucial text.. and im guarantee that it will work 100% on the real psp
Well done, chief! Congratulations. And where can we get the download link?

So, you guarantee it'll work on the PSP console? Hmm... I'll give it a try now. Let's hope I don't run into any "engrish" here and there. 🤭
Im really cant give you a proof users since i dont have a legit psp device. but im on the discord server which sharing a iso-testing and the one guy from that server really said its work using the real psp one..

Hey everyone,

For Initial D’s 30th anniversary, we worked on a full Chinese fan translation of Initial D: Street Stage (PSP). While doing that, I realized there’s still no real English patch out there… so I figured, there might be people interested in it as well?

Since I already built all the tools and scripts for the Chinese patch, a lot of the heavy lifting is done: unpacking/repacking, text + texture compiling, a plugin for variable-width fonts, and even a plugin to implement in-game voice subtitles. English now actually looks clean now, which was a big hurdle.

I’ve thrown together a demo patch for testing (works on PPSSPP and real PSP). Right now it covers menus, dialogs, card descriptions, voice subtitles, and some textures that can be auto-generated. It’s far from polished — text gets cut off sometimes due to length limits, and some graphics are still not in English — but it’s playable. You’ll need the JP v1.01 ISO to patch it.

If anyone is interested in making an English patch,

Where I could use help:

  • Text editing/proofreading: I used Gemini Pro to get a quick baseline translation (~100k words). It’s decent for testing, but definitely needs cleanup so it reads naturally and fits on screen. If you’re familiar with Initial D terms/names, even better.
  • Image editing: The game has ~1000 2D images with Japanese text. About 800 can be auto-generated, but ~200 need manual editing. Luckily we kept all the PSDs from the Chinese patch, so it’s pretty straightforward if you’re into graphics work.

What’s Already Done

  • Complete unpacking, editing, and repacking workflow.
  • Tools for auto-compiling text and textures.
  • Scripts for generating most of the textures with Japanese.
  • Plugin for ASCII encoding support and variable-width font rendering (so English looks clean on screen).
  • Plugin for in-game voice subtitles.
  • Demo Eng patch already working on PPSSPP and real PSPs.
The cool part is: most of the “annoying” technical stuff is already solved. So now it’s mainly about polishing the English, touching up visuals, and making this feel like a legit localization. For the Chinese patch, we finished the bulk of the work in about a week and a half, so it’s not an endless grind.

If this project sounds fun to you, or you just want to help bring an English version of this classic PSP title to life, let me know!

Would be awesome to finally have a proper English version of Street Stage for everyone who still loves drifting on PSP.

Be honest. Did you use AI to translate it into English? If so, I hope someone manually checked and edited the final text. Anyway, thanks for your work. 😊

Of course not, my texture patch exist before AI thingy like chatgpt or gemini. And im manually translate this thing using my english skill (maybe its not perfect to your standard🤷) and prefering the Initial D Arcade Stage 3 the english one to make it just like the import one for the street stage is existed. I hope theres no more error or changes after this.

Hmm? Did you change the textures? Where, exactly? Anyway, I tested it on a PSP-3004, after compressing it to CSO format, and it works perfectly. 😉
Fyi this patch uses my texture patch from ppsspp that i made 2 years ago. From that day, im really dont know about that AI thing until today.. back into your question, idk which part that i change (to follow gohn99 project) it was too many maybe you can check my youtube.. (im not promoting this..💁) anyway dm me in discord.. you just too many ask about this thing.. idk if this thing cant reach your standard then i cant help you..

Lad, on the web version of Discord (the only one I use) on smartphone, it tells me the invite is invalid or expired. I can search manually, if you give me your exact username.
