Dekopon - (Mostly) Fullspeed 3DS Emulation on Nintendo Switch

There shouldn't be any reason. I always use hbl to launch everything, so I never tested a forwarder, but I don't know why it wouldn't work unless there's something weird forwarders do differently. Does it crash or just return back to the home menu?
Yeah ignore me... Typo should be my middle name 🙈

All good now and boots pretty fast too 👍

Tested metal gear solid: snake eater 3D, one of the most graphically demanding 3DS games.
seems to run fine on 1x with max OLED handheld clocks, more stable than on the actual 3DS. 2x resolution is just a slideshow.

i will test docked OC later and see if any improvements are notable.

I'm not going to use it (no hate, I just don't plan to emulate 3ds on the switch as I have a 3ds anyways, and a gaming pc) but congrats to the dev for this :toot:

Don’t install cia
What do you mean? Like there's something broken with installing CIAs or you can't? Every one that I tried to install worked fine.

For reference, what are max OLED handheld clocks?
Getting this many games near full speed on the Switch is seriously impressive. I'm curious how well suspend and resume behave
The Switch suspend and resume seems to work fine with the emulator. I've never had it fail to wake from being slept while testing different things.

Error Xxxx game cia empryted please decrypt or add aes_keys.txt
You appear to have an encrypted cia then. You either have to give the emulator the keys, or decrypt it yourself. I don’t know the exact process for decrypting games since I just dumped all mine decrypted via gm9 on my 3DS.

For me it always aborts the cia installations. Maybe I transfer them to the original demanded folder and try again :)

Doesn’t work either.

It is very convenient to be able to switch screen modes using R3 while playing. However, since there are multiple modes, I have to press R3 repeatedly until I reach the one I want. Could you add an option to select just two preferred screen modes?

Yeah. I can make a setting where you can choose what layouts R3 goes through, and the rest can be cycled through using the in-game menu that is coming at some point ideally.

First of all: thank you so much for this. While it may not be a perfect experience, it's really amazing and I'm grateful this exists. Azahar on Lakka for Switch works a bit better I think, but they are two completely different things and I'm glad this port exists.

Have you considered implementing things like button remapping, integer scaling, a shortcut (like using L3) just to swap the main screen in-game, a pause menu, a latency setting, frameskipping...? Also, you can use ZL/ZR either to be used as L/R too, or also for emulation-specific things like pausing, swapping layouts/screens, etc.

Adding aes_keys.txt to sysdata, it didn't work for me. I just decrypted it on PC and then I use the decrypted files now. I don't know 😅
Decrypting elsewhere is the easiest bet, but it should still work on Switch. Did you make sure it was named 'keys.txt' and not 'aes_keys.txt' when being placed there?
