Even assuming I was able to find one, I don't own a private jet to transport it using. And aint no way I'm trusting a courier with something that fragile. The best display for the PS3 is one of those multi-sync BVM 16:9 CRTs. Almost none of the "720P" televisions back in the day were 720P, they were 768P and scaled like you are worried about. Don't bother searching for that 720P television, the CRT is the best one
You're gonna have to be prepared to drive a long way, or solicit somebody else to drive you, for something like that.Even assuming I was able to find one, I don't own a private jet to transport it using. And aint no way I'm trusting a courier with something that fragile.
Of course they did, you should be asking if anyone still making them and I suspect the answer is no.I got a PS3 today but I can't find a 720p TV for it. Or a monitor. Everything is 1366x768 and not 1280x720 like what a PS3 would look good on according to online sources since most games are 720p. It looks really bad on my 4K C2 OLED.
I don't want to spend $750 on a RetroTwink 4K unless I have to,, are there any other scalers that do the job? Or just 720p TV/monitors?
20 years ago (2006), computer monitors were 4:3 and 16:10. There were SDTV (480i/480p), especially CRT and HDTV (720p/1080i and 1080p). 1080p HDTV was very new and super expensive, especially with HDMI port with LCD and plasma as option. I saw CRT that came with 1080i, so very, very heavy.
This forum talk about GameCube, GBA and DS with Wii coming soon lol.
Yes, but true 720p wasn't used. Sony makes a "720p" TV still as of today and it's 768p.720p TVs were usually saved for 32" models.
I thought everyone knew that all 720p TVs were 768. Just like 4K is either 4096x 2160 or 3840x2160.Yes, but true 720p wasn't used. Sony makes a "720p" TV still as of today and it's 768p.
The good thing about Sony TVs is that they're generally produced yearly so you don't get something from years ago, however.. the Android OS on that TV is 11, I think. Not great as it is outdated though it is a very good TV and built to last.
My first lcd tv was a Phillips 720p 42 inch in the mid 2000’s I remember going to Best Buy to get it and hook my ps3 up so they did make themI got a PS3 today but I can't find a 720p TV for it. As already mentioned several times in this thread, it probably wasn't true 720p. I too had a "720p" TV but no 720p image was ever sharp on it. Not something you'd usually notice with video games or TV/movies but definitely noticeable when you hook a PC up to it. The same was true for every "720p" TV that my closest family owned. 720p just wasn't a common resolution for panels, despite this being the resolution targeted by early HD content. My first lcd tv was a Phillips 720p 42 inch in the mid 2000’s I remember going to Best Buy to get it and hook my ps3 up so they did make them

Not all PS3 games support 1080p but many do

Only about 15 to 20 PS3 games output at a true, native 1080p resolution. The rest that say 1080p are upscaled. My old Panasonic 50 inch TV from 2007 was true 720p that would accept a 1080p signal and downscale it. These days I run PS3 games at 4K on my PC because they look and run ten times better than they ever did on the underpowered PS3.
Here's a list of true 1080p games: https://www.reddit.com/r/PS3/comments/117mjvo/tried_listing_all_native_1080p_games_on_the_ps3/ I count well above 20 there.
Here's a DF in-depth analysis of the 1080p and near 1080p games (games that had an above 720p internal resolution that outputted in 1080p mode):
