(I accidentally posted this in the introduction forum and have no idea how to delete it lmao, first time using this website hopefully that isn't an issue)
Firstly to start off I wanna say this is in no way a promotion for my youtube channel, but rather just a general question I want to ask other gamers (non derogatory) I've been wondering about for a while now.

A little backstory, I've been doing gaming youtube content for around half a year now and one of the things I always struggle with is the format and how to keep it fresh and new rather than essentially just remaking content that others make.
Personally I feel that I hardly find gaming content worth watching at this point and so I want to do my best to try to distinct myself from the crowd.

Generally speaking I feel that most gaming content that I see now falls into one of several categories: game analysis/essay, playthroughs (although that's become less popular over all), or challenge runs; And I think that for the most part that shit has just been exhausted.

So here are the two question I have for other people who like to watch gaming content on youtube:
1. Who are some gaming youtubers you feel genuinely have a unique style that's refreshing to watch?
2. What are some styles/formats of content you feel you don't see enough, but wish you did?

I personally have been making sort of highly edited, high effort play-through (I guess would be the most fitting term?) videos of a variety of games that I personally have interest in (everything from the original fallout games to all capital G Gamer's favourite 3D platformer: Bubsy 3D),
where I try to have actually good story telling, comedy and live action bits interspersed to keep things fresh.
And personally I really like the type of content I do, but seeing as these videos aren't particularly doing well (which I know in part is due to the fact that "making it" on youtube is just a long ardous journey), it sort of makes me question whether or not other people are really interested in this type of content.
Again, I am not trying to promote myself in anyway, just genuinely wanted to hear other people's opinion on the matter which could hopefully help organize my brain a bit.

I don't know how to wrap this post up so I'll do it the way you do with an email

Thanks in advanced,
Me.

What and how do YOU want to share to people about YOUR gaming? And why would people be interested in your take or showcase of something?

It's like writing a college essay in either history or sports management for the most part. And, where is a sample of your content anyway? Link us maybe?

https://www.youtube.com/@SunBle4chd this is my channel. And I don't know if you're genuinely asking me that as a question or if you're sort of answering me with a question to ask myself but I honestly think what I want to share is the general experience of a given game in a very well packaged way, which I think is what I have been doing for the most part. But again this isn't really a post I made for myself, was just generally wondering to see if people also shared my view of gaming youtube sort of being stale right now and what they personally wished there was more of.

That's the thing - doesn't matter what people want because you can't please everyone. Your essays are for you to express your artistic vision, which in this case is diving deep into games you like. I scrobbed through your FO1 vid just to get a feel for it and its fine aside from you being out of focus as all hell with your overlays, but that's a minor nitpick from my pro photog of a view (and for that matter, maybe crop yourself to a bust and don't take up the entire screen so the game footage can roll on in the background as you do your face talking bits).

Past that, no 45 min or longer vid is easy to make and cut by any means and you got almost 5k views in 3 months (I assume you don't blast on every social to try and get more viewers). You got a ton done in but half a year, so keep going and share and preface as to why people ought to watch X vid you made. FO1 being a weak example because everyone's grand-grandma did a playthrough and summary, so tube algorithm won't shove yours over someone else's with 100k subs, you know? If you're gonna tackle tried and true stuff - why would yours be unique?

Know that Noah Caldwell or something like that guy who does like 2-3 hour ESSAYS on some games and just encompasses everything even remotely relevant from history and so on into those? And then you have zoomers who meme HARD purely for the sake of it. Also, trying to remember the channel of a Brit guy and his friend who started with Monster Hunter world and built up form their quipping into min-max builds and etc.

I'm facing similar questions with my car-centric channel and I've not yet accomplished any viral feats that would wow car bois and girrs, but I'm working on that hopefully next week.

Well are you covering a blanket of news for ALL gaming? Are you doing more retro gaming than modern gaming? There's a lot to factor in. I'm partial to retro gaming, homebrew releases for retro systems, FPGA gaming, and odd hardware designs. Oh, and lost or forgotten consoles, like the Sega Neptune.
