hi :P I'm new here, and tired, so I'm sorry if I've messed something up! I recently bought a copy of My Secret World for the DS from a second hand store. It's a diary game aimed at tween girls, I enjoyed the idea of using this random game as my actual journal so I bought it. When I opened it on my 3DS, there was an existing save file (last opened 26 December 2013), but I couldn't access it because I didn't know the 4 digit PIN or the security question. I tried a bunch of super common PINs (like 0000, 1234, 9876 etc) but no luck. I erased the file (my new diary is going strong, it's actually a fun little game), but before I did I saved a backup with Checkpoint of the original save. I'm curious if there's a way of getting around that lock, without just straight up brute forcing? Is there anything I could use to look into this more? Honestly I'm most interested in the process (if it can be done) than the actual diary.

Hello, I like handhelds and Pokemon so I am of course looking for a Nintendo console I can buy. Naturally I had gotten the latest console back in 2018 but my experience was less than stellar because of a plethora of reasons(stick drift, patched console, bad pokemon games!!). Lately though I've kind of fallen in love with the 3DS, It just looks so cool and innovative and had a great game library too not even mentioning the modding community. It being an extremely old console I'd expected for it to be cheap but Its like 300 bucks. I can kinda see why, its a great console and I guess something happened for it to be relevant again. But I want to get this console nevertheless so I wanted a bit of advice on what to do. Should I buy it now since the prices will continue to rise or is this just a trend and shoul I wait for the prices to lower again? Many thanks.

OH BOY THERE ARE A LOT OF UPDATES.

For those who don't know, I'm making a Homestuck (and other MSPA) reader for the Nintendo 3DS, and I finally launched Version 1.0!

Here is what it contains:

A COMPUTER BUILDER TOOL FOR EXPORTING MSPAs or MSPFAs TO A FOLDER THE APP CAN READ!
THE APP ITSELF THAT READS THE FOLDER ON THE 3DS
THATS ABOUT IT

Supported comics:

Jailbreak (complete AND tested)
Problem Sleuth (not tested, but should work)
Homestuck (complete BUUUT 1/3 of flashes might not work. haven't tested ALL of homestuck yet)
A LOT OF MSPFA stories

How it works:

Run the PC builder (Windows EXE or Python script)
Enter a comic URL, slug, or MSPFA story ID
Pick your page range
Click Build
Copy the generated folder to your 3DS SD card

Limitations:

S pages are 6 FPS frame sequences, which can take A LOT OF SPACE.
Interactive Flash pages (the ones with actual gameplay) don't convert well. FFDec can only extract timeline animations
You need a PC with internet to build packs, but the 3DS itself works fully offline
