I've looked everywhere on the internet and couldn't find a proper guide on how to patch Zelda Four Swords Adventures for GC to run in widescreen on Wii / Wii U. I've tinkered a bit with Claude and gathered some codes lying around on different places on the internet and finally I was able to patch my PAL ISO for this game, which seems like a nice thing to share given my difficulty to find it nowhere on the internet.
I've shared the guide, the python script and a few screenshots with the proof. Basically I'm putting out there how to patch this game and maybe this will be a door open for further games.
About me: I'm a software engineer working for big tech based out of the UK (but originally Portuguese), with a huge love for Nintendo (classic and modern), and all I wanted was for both me and my wife to finally be able to play a Zelda on our TV which can be played in couch coop! I guess now we can do it in a more modern way (widescreen), without my eyes bleeding that much
