Hello everyone,

I made a mistake and removed the SD card from my Switch Lite whilst Hekate was running. I was prompted with an error that asked if I would like to power off the switch, so I decided to power off the Switch and now it is stuck on a black screen.

I have the HWFly modchip soldered in and it is flashing a dark blue LED. The blue flashing LED means it is "waiting for input on USB TTY". I have absolutely no idea what this means other than that. This diagram is explaining the different colour LED errors but I'm still no further forward finding a solution.

I'm a complete noob at this, I have tried to Google my issue but can't seem to find a solution?

As always, any help is appreciated!

I have tried the following steps:

-Pressing and holding the power button for 10, 12, 13, 15, 20 second intervals then retrying the power button.

- The same as above but holding the volume-/+ at the same time or just the power button and vol- or power button and vol+.

-Sending a payload via TegraRCMGUI however when I connect my Switch to the PC; Tegra recognises it then instantly disconnects and repeats a cycle of connecting/disconnecting every 45-60 seconds.

Somehow you have put your hwfly in the 'toolbox' mode.
If you haven't opened your Switch to press the internal button, then take a look on your SD card what is in the bootloader/payloads folder.

If you hold the power button for 20 seconds then the Switch will turn off completely.

If you see something like hwfly_toolbox.bin in that folder then maybe the person who installed your modchip maybe did a custom setup where it is now automatically booting into the toolbox mode for some reason.
Just rename hwfly_toolbox.bin tohwfly_toolbox.bin.old and see if Hekate or Atmosphere starts.

Thanks for reply. I actually bought this "faulty" switch without SD card. Is it possible to have hfwly in toolbox mode even without sd card plugged in?

I've never seen it but according to some other users, the HWFLY can be stuck in the toolbox mode if something is wrong with the training data.

If that is the case, you need to enter the toolbox mode once more to to reset the training data.

Reset Training Data
  1. Boot Hekate: Turn the Switch back on by pressing the power button normally. The chip will attempt to glitch. Hold the Volume Up button during the glitch phase (when the light changes from purple to green) to force the console into the Hekate menu.
  2. Launch Toolbox: In Hekate, go to Payloads and select hwfly_toolbox.bin.
  3. Reset: Once the HWFLY Toolbox opens, look for the option to Reset Training Data.
  4. Reboot: Select the option to exit, return to Hekate, and boot your Custom Firmware (CFW).
