DS cartridge replacement save chips

Tried this with a heart gold, using the chip that you linked on aliexpress. Soldering work is immaculate. Still no dice. Game boots now but it says "the backup memory has failed" upon attempting to save the game now.

As @SylverReZ said you'll need an M45PE40. You can also get a LE25FW403A from the link below (I have bought from that listing multiple times without issue), though they come in a lot of 5.

This did not work on heart gold. Still says that there's an error with the backup memory and the game cannot be saved.

Hey yall, this work out for me, I had to do it 3 tries until to get it to work. I’m so happy how did it turn out and now I can able to save and play Pokemon platinum again!

how do you open up this god damn cart shell though, mine cart costs like $30, i dont wanna break it
 
The shell of the Nintendo DS cartridge is ultrasonically welded.
If you put it in a bag and then freeze(-18°c) it in the refrigerator for 2 hours, you can easily pry open the shell.

sound like a geek way, i mean i will try, I have a broken poke pearl but i dont trust myself fixing that
