Tangent before I answer the damn question: I think I've come to the conclusion that Nintendo may not be for me generally any more, which is odd because they have been a significant part of my life. I was at the launch of the switch 2, but that was mostly childhood wish fulfillment because I was 15 at the launch of switch 1 and didn't have the cash or autonomy to make it to that launch.
Since the launch of the original switch, I have primarily become a PC gamer. Additionally, I have one of those android handhelds that's pretty capable on its own. 5 years ago, I would've said I would love to see more third party ports- Elden Ring News, Final Fantasy, etc. These days, I'd rather just buy those on steam. If I really need to play portably, or I can stream or use my laptop rather than buy twice with no cross save.
All of that being said, I want to see a lot of first party Nintendo stuff/things that are only possible on Nintendo hardware, because that's all that will get me touch my switch.
No 3d Mario or new Zelda in the first year of switch 2 was certainly a choice. I'd like to see them rectify one of those series. No, I am not part of the camp that thinks Bananza was a 3d Mario game with a donkey kong skin. I also am not talking about the OOT remake. I think that's a shoe-in. I would like to see a new, classic 3d or 2d Zelda game.
I would also like to see an Intelligent Systems Paper Mario. I think the TTYD sales may have been high enough to convince them to go back to classic PM.
For NSO, I would like to see one of two things. The obvious one is Wii. Because of the wiimote, most Wii games require some workarounds to get working in dolphin. The joycon provide a close enough alternative.
My more "out there" NSO idea would be DS/3DS. I think they could use gameshare so people with switch 1/lite lying around can have the DS Experience
Would also like to see an ever oasis sequel. That game didn't get enough love
I also, strangely enough, want to see more licensed games. Back in my day, people had to commit to making games based on franchises. Sure, a lot of them stunk, but some actually went hard. Since the rise of mobile games, you can just crap out mobile slop, but we never get bangers like Simpsons Hit and Run it Battle for Bikini Bottom anymore.
I accidentally hit post before proofreading this and I'm not going back at this point so have fun deciphering
