Does any of this translate to emulators at all? I'd love to be able to play these games as described above but am having trouble converting the instructions to emulation (on an Ayn Thor, for instance)

The problem with emulators is that a DS emulator emulates a DS, not a 3DS in DS mode. The emulated hardware doesn't know what a Circle Pad or analog stick is, so it only accepts digital input. You'd have to program your own emulator to get these codes to work AFAIK.

I assume this needs TwilightMenu to load the cheats? Was hoping I could run widescreen and the circle pad patch with my cart for KH Re:coded...

You can use them with DeSmuME on Windows according to this guy, though I can't figure out how to replicate what he did.

The Windows version of DeSmuME does support reading controller inputs in Lua using the "controller.get(id)" function, with id being optional. Axes are x, y, u, r, and z. Dpad is up, down, left right. Buttons are accessed as keys "1", "2", and so on.

I stumbled across this thread and decided myself to see how difficult it would be to use these in DeSmuME and it was shockingly simple. Just had to modify the python AR generator code to comment out any arm7 stuff and write up a super simple Lua script to place controller data at the right address.

Really neat patches you have here.

There's also this:

I would expect not, as your DS emulator isn't emulating the 3DS hardware!
There is a special build of DeSmuME that gives you analog movement in Mario 64 using a fictional GBA-slot analog stick dongle.
I am not aware of analog mods for any other DS games in emulators. Maybe ask the creator of the SM64 DeSmuME mod for details of how they got the game to accept GBA-slot signals as touchscreen input? It might be possible to implement it in other games that use the touchscreen for analog movement.

Can anyone help me using this with retail european DS games? thx a lot in advance!

Now I got as far as making the usrcheat.dat being used by NitroHax but Mario 64 DS freezes right away with white screen when Cpad Patch is selected...

What I did so far:
- installed TwilightMenu++ pack from Univ. Updater
- installed TWPatch patch without widescreen first (I left RTCom enabled of course)
- installed the same but with it enabled, moved it into the correct TW-Menu folder and renamed to Widescreen.cxi
- selected to use external firms and modules in Luma3DS
- installed NitroHax
- downloaded usrcheat.dat from shoco's first post

(it works perfect through Twilight Menu)

2 options for me: - the TwlBg.cxi file can be used by NitroHax??
- Twilight Menu allowing to play retail DS games through the main loader with cheats enabled
I know I'm very late to the party, but I'm running into the same issue. Can you please help me? Also, did you ever resolve it?

I'm loving this cheat pack so far. These make games like Super Mario 64 DS and Rayman DS improved with 360° movement with the Circle Pad.

I do have one question about using the Circle Pad cheat for Animal Crossing: Wild World. Do you have to press B, L, or R to make your character run like in New Leaf?

Hi, does anyone have a .dat file that combines all the nintendo ds cheat codes with the ones that allow to play with the 3ds analog stick and the new 3ds c-stick? Thanks.
