In a normal presidency, I think if I told you this is from November, it would be obvious which scandal is being referred to. I mean, can you imagine having so many allegations of corruption that people lose track?

Spoilers for the curious: Trump pardoning a crypto CEO convicted of helping ISIS and Hamas launder money, shortly after said CEO's company invested $2 billion into (one of) Trump's crypto projects.

This is from an interview where Trump stated that he didn't know anything about him, just that "good people" (his lobbyists) said he should be pardoned.
Some of these lobbyists also work directly for the Trump crypto project used in the deal.

Here's Todd Blanche literally saying the president is allowed to pardon anyone, no matter th blatant corruption, self dealing, quid-pro-quo, etc.

Blanche: Who the president chooses to pardon is not a problem, period.

Ivey: what's the legal basis for that statement?

Ivey: The Constitution does not give him the authority to pardon in exchange for payments. It does not permit bribery.

Highly possible. But I want to give him the benefit of the doubt.

To say there were some "real doozies" would mean that he had more than one hugely corrupt things that a president has done directly in mind.

I couldn't find anything that came close, so I wanted to see if his are comparible, false equivalencies, or he's just saying that in hopes that over 250 years something worse may have happened.
