A good while ago, I decided to see if an English patch of Chaos;Head on the PSP was possible, so I decided to give it a try using the same tools used for the Steins;Gate patch. I was able to unpack the scripts, repack the scripts, and run the game just fine, but the one issue that I have not been able to overcome is that running the game with an edited script file simply displays an error message in the textbox (as seen in the photo below) that repeats for the entire duration of the script file. If someone has any idea how to fix this issue, please let me know, and if anyone would like to help with this project, just let me know.

Is the "P.PMF" part at the end the error message, or is it the entire thing? Google's translation for the Japanese text in your image doesn't seem very error message-y, so I'm assuming that isn't part of it.

If the only problem is that an error string is being appended to the end of messages and everything else works fine, maybe finding where the error string is stored and blanking it out would be the simplest solution. That said, are you sure it's meant to be an error message? "PMF" is the name of the video format used in the game. In particular, the file for the opening is called "OP.PMF", which matches with the message if the O at the start is truncated. Maybe it's just somehow inserting an unrelated string into the message, for some reason? Maybe the command that was meant to play the opening failed and this is the result?

Update: this error and accompanying picture is from the last time I worked on this patch, which was 3 years ago. I just now tried it all over again, and now when running the game with an edited script, the text simply remains unchanged. If anyone knows a fix for this, let me know, otherwise I will update when I have it figured out.

Editing text is fairly easy to do

The annoying thing is you can only add 3 lines in the text box with around 50 char per line max, and a lot of the translated text is longer then that.

for the test box you need to add another tex box just like what we did in digimon adventure.. if there is no voice that's great simply add the dialogue..

you must need someone that can do ASM
