I have XAJ9? Does anyone know if it's patched? I want to get into switch mods, but don't want to get started without knowledge if my console is patched, as it could just be a waste of time.

There is very high chance that refurbished Switch is patched because Nintendo know about exploit - they aren’t stupid.

You have to test it as Hayato213 described above.

I am alone with the serial number ???

Serials beginning with XJE7, i'm alone with that ???

The website says that XAW40013XXXX is possibly patched but the post here says definitely patched. I'm going to assume patched but which is more up-to-date? I imagine it's most likely patched.

My question is basically: where does this data come from? (The spreadsheet is confusing and doesn't seem to denote vulnerable to the bug, just the firmware it shipped with)

The only way to know for sure is to try the test payload and see if it'll work. Website should be more up-to-date but those "possibly patched" units are the worse to figure out as unpatched units were still being made while the patched ones just started to appear.

Do you have a console or you're still looking to buy it?

Looking to buy, There is a lot of "possibly patched" systems around on ebay and locally. Is the chance equal for all possibly patched systems or would a higher number lower the chances? (I assume that this happened because the factory mixed the old unpatched processors with the new ones or something and over time the unpatched ones disappeared more and more?)

(Also so many people on ebay put zero effort into their photos so you can't even read the numbers)

I can pick up a XAW10099 today which seems to be squarely in the middle.

Also, once again, edge cases on the site and forum aren't the same. XAW1007 is listed as possibly on the forum but unpatched on the website. I think the edges should be more conservative.

Ehh screw it. I went with XAW1007 locally. By the estimates I found here it looks to be safe except for someone with a XAW10079

Hello, i found a XAJ7004378 locally, it falls right in the orange zone, mixed reports of above and below being unpatched. Any tips or should I skip it?

Serial: XAW400124760XX
Serial on device matches serial on box: N/A (Purchased without box)
Region: USA
Firmware: 10.1.0
Color option: Standard black
Store: Facebook Marketplace
Was a bundle (if yes, which): No
Purchase date: Recently acquired
Fusée Gelée works: Yes (100% Unpatched)

Additional Notes / Outlier Report:

Hey everyone, dropping this here to report a major statistical anomaly for the database.

According to the tracking guidelines, XAW4001200000 is established as the absolute cutoff threshold where units transition from potentially unpatched to definitely patched.

My unit is XAW400124760XX, which blows past that "definitely patched" ceiling by nearly 48,000 units. Despite this, it is completely unpatched, completely vulnerable to RCM, and accepts payloads perfectly.

This was a recent Facebook Marketplace pickup and did not come with the original retail box. However, to ensure this wasn't a case of a motherboard swap or a replaced shell, I verified that the internal system serial matches the external chassis sticker perfectly. The factory security screws also show no signs of previous tool wear or removal.

Submitting this data point to help refine the known manufacturing transition windows. Is this currently the highest confirmed unpatched XAW4 serial on record in the thread? I can gladly provide photo/video proof of the payload injection and matching serials to the thread moderators if required!
