I'm still in the early stages, so hard to say anything concrete about it, but Yoshi's Wooly World was a lot more fun from the get-go than this entry.

Some Nintendo fanboys (on YouTube at least) will say "it doesn't need to cater to adults" yeah you're right.. it needs to be fun, though.

Always surprised of how Nintendo can make a twist in the gameplay to bring something fresh with the same characters. And yes I am having fun with the game and my wife also

I haven't played it yet, but I did pick it up just earlier today. I've heard that it's literally Yoshi's Story 2 and I loved that game.

Yoshi games have always been for children. Why on Earth would Ninty make a Yoshi game for people over the age of 12? 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣

I mean seriously people. Watch the trailer again and ask yourself what self-respecting adult would say, "Oh yes. They are targeting me and my collection of 2400 plushies with this game!"

To be honest, this game seems a little bit too hard for me, I feel like too dumb to figure out the hints the game is giving me. Like the different melodies to perform, to find little things, which for some reason are just not there. Maybe I need to progress further instead of staying in a level for too long. I should have gone with bubsy 4d.

Also I bought it on japaese eshop and shared the account with my nephew and he lost interest after some hours.

Started it yesterday, just played the first area with the flower, a bunch of times to find all the stuff. Promising so far, as long as you can accept that the challenge is in figuring stuff out rather than platforming challenges.
Yes, it's about figuring out where items are, make them appear, and collect them. I can see for some this can be boring, especially for kids.

I noticed recently something about the cover...

That's Kirby!

So, played it a bit, got to the second world.
I quite like it so far. It's definitely a lot more chill than previous Yoshi games, but that's not a bad thing. Just depends what I'm in the mood for.

I enjoy trying random things to discover secrets. I'd say I get about 90% of them without looking up a guide, but some of those smiley flowers are quite tough.
So it's not an easy game if you're trying to 100% it, which feels like the way this game is meant to be played. Otherwise you could beeline straight for the primary goal in each level and you'd never see most of what the game has to offer.

I don't know if there's a reward for completing the book 100%, but so far I'm thinking that I'll just do as much as I can in each level and at least get all the smiley flowers but I probably won't go back to fill in the blanks in the book that I missed, unless there's some big reward at the end if you do it. Every level has one or two things I didn't do because I didn't realize you could. Not really worth going back just to throw a creature into a mud pit.

I was playing the frog level from Chapter 1, but I just found it so boring I just quit it. This isn't a traditional platformer, it's a puzzle where you find clues and items.

The graphics are wonderful

I'm waiting to see a bunch of people discussing it buying time, lots, to see if I'd bother at a second hand or otherwise sale discount. Yoshi has perpetually disappointed me outside of the original, never came close to matching it sadly. Always feels largely too easy, short, watered down, the kids game for kids who think Kirby isn't kiddie enough is where I am on the franchise. And on that, I'm still waiting to make time for Kirby I grabbed with that insane costco sale that took like $40 off. I'm too into Indiana Jones, Pokepia, and some others before it.

I keep hearing rave reviews on YouTube, yet virtually no other commentary any place else. The sales must be pretty low. I really miss Yoshi's Story. I am not a fan of NSO because the entire UI feels clunky, but if they ever remake it, that's the Yoshi game I'm most vying for.

Most people are probably waiting for a sale or cheap used copies, considering how short the game is.
I loved Yoshi's Story and that game was pretty short too, so eh, I don't mind. I guess I don't need this sort of game to be super long.

Yoshi's Story was far from short. You had to replay it a bunch of times to get all the content! That's what I loved about it as a kid, there was never just one path!

Used copies are probably not going for that much cheaper than a new one. If I could I'd swap this game for Star Fox 64 HD.
