I have been trying to run Linux on my DS via DSLinux. From what I have read, due to memory limitations, the DS will experience regular crashes on DSLinux without the Memory Expansion Pak that comes with the Nintendo DS web browser.
Therefore, I ordered a copy of the DS web browser that comes with the Memory Expansion Pak. When running the browser from the official cartridge, it "works" (many websites don't work as the browser is so old, and I have to use a mobile hotspot with no security, but the browser runs). However, when I ran DSLinux from the Ace Wood R4 launcher on my flashcart, it still says in the bootlog "Extra RAM NOT detected! You may experience crashes due to lack of memory".
This led to me developing the theory that it is the Ace Wood R4 firmware, not Linux, that is at fault. So, I decided to copy the web browser ROM to my flashcart and try running it from Ace Wood R4. Just as I expected, an error message appeared saying "Memory Expansion Required" indicating the DS does not detect the Memory Expansion Pak.
Is there any way to resolve this? If so, how?
