Im new to switch modding and Im wondering if downgrading my official firmware could fix compatibility issues in my HB apps (for example bugged firmware DBI installer not downloading nsps), I think that using the most recent official firmware on my custom pack is what is creating issues with installing nsps and I wanna know how to downgrade safely before installing the corresponding/compatible HATS pack.

Also, what is a recommended firmware version for my switch to be at for the most compatibility?

Don't downgrade if you're a newbie because usually you'll make things worse.

Make a list of what HB apps and modules you are using and see whether they support your current FW.
Don't use anything that doesn't have support for your FW version.
Usually most popular apps will have support within a few weeks.
