Please don't be sadistic, I know it's futile to beg but PLEASE don't be sadisti-

Sometimes I wish Nintendo was a bit more like SEGA when it comes to these type of things.
I wish it the best, but we all know what is most likely gonna happen close or directly after this gets released,

... hey. It's not like SEGA hasn't had its rare quirks with fangames. Streets of Rage fans and the devs of Sonic.exe - The Disaster have got to be staring daggers at anybody who says this kinda shit.

Another one for Emerald, oh no how original, not as if there's 10.000 of them out there already. How about some of those that there are less of, or for the more modern ones?

Also... the DS games are annoyingly slow.

I grew up with the DS games, but holy shit, the DS games are INTOLERABLY slow. Anything special going on with the GBA Pokémon games are all fine and dandy to me; especially because of how easy to emulate the GBA is.

Sega has had its fair share of blunders. While being readily available now, Sega actually DMCAd the Streets of Rage remake by BomberGames. It was too late and already in distribution though but if it's wasn't complete work would had to have ceased

This is why it's important to not release "demos" of work especially if it's gets a high amount of attention. Because if the IP holder feels like being an asshole, a demo is all that project will ever allowed to be or become

Totally fair guys. But Nintendo can sometimes be outright petty ... and yeah that is coming from what a lot of people always would call a nintendo fanboy. Love them for a lot ...hate them for quite a few things too, is all I will say ;)

Usually not a fan of fakemon in rom hacks but this seems very well done

Code based trading is a pretty interesting idea I had never considered

Also, who does not love airships in 2d games
Usually Fakemon are one of my biggest interests in hacks, but I have to say, Fakemon designers should just make their own game or sell their designs.

I do think that

People who put in this many years effort should just make an indie title

At the same time tho, there are a lot of indie titles and this will certainly most likely garner more interest as a Pokemon hack (even if the creators get no money)

Having fakemon is a surefire way to ensure I never bother with your pokemon romhack, no matter how great the experience otherwise is.

Like seriously, there are over 1000 available pokemon to choose from, not to mention all the different forms and regional variants to mine from, and you still need to make new fake monsters?

I dunno maybe this is a me problem, but I like my pokemon romhacks to feel like they could have actually been an official game. And adding fake monsters is an incredibly quick way to kill that illusion.

Oh, believe you me -- I am aware Nintendo hates their own audience. It's why I remarked to myself that they're sadistic, and that it's futile of my part to beg.

I'm only a Nintendo "fan" because I grew accustomed to their stuff across my life, not because I like them or because I think they are or have been perfect flawless do-no-wrong producers or anything of the sort. That'd be very silly.

release it before you got dmca'd
Please stop that "dmca" nonsense. Romhacks, if provided via patches (which is almost always the case), are not really DMCA-able.
Nintendo didn't even take down "Pokémon My Ass" edition, so...

To be honest, many of the "official" Pokémon look extremely uninspired and/or awful.
First two generations were great, then it went down a little imho.
Also the rom hacker who designs a Fakemon is a human, the graphic artist at Gamefreak is a human. What's the difference?
I get your point but if they Fakemon look and feel good and especially "fitting" into the franchise, it's fine for me.

But as always, preferences differ (and that's alright). :)

Oh that doesn't matter to my issue with fakemon in romhacks at all. I love the official pokemon world that has been established and I accept everything that includes, even the lamest and dumbest monsters. In fact those lame 'mon are a huge part of the series' charm for me.

Like I said, I like when a romhack holds the illusion of being official, and I can accept new regions and even new gameplay gimmicks. My monkey-brain can be fooled into thinking that stuff makes a real Pokemon game. But the instant I see a fake pokemon whether they look like absolute shit or truly amazing, is the instant that illusion is ruined for me.
