Hi. Just to share a successful experience: If your PS3 controller is dying, don’t bother hunting for a genuine DS3. They’re discontinued.
Used controllers in a good condition are hard to find, most third-party ones feel cheap in every aspect, the market is flooded with fake DS3 controllers...etc
Better option: use a USB adapter and connect wirelessly a genuine controller you already have (PS4/PS5/Xbox/Nintendo Pro...) to the PS3.
Examples:
• Brook Wingman XE2 ($50–60)
• Mayflash NS 2 (~$20)
I got the Mayflash NS 2 and now use a DS4 on my PS3.. works flawlessly! Rumble, PS button, works with PS2 games and everything!
There are no input lags or whatever, honestly feels better than the old DS3.
Not advertising, just sharing in case you might have the same problem.
