Hey all, has anyone gotten Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 working? I did 2 dumps, one was bad even in Dolphin, had instant vertex explosions the second you walked off the boat, but the second dump was completely fine in Dolphin while running off the same hard drive. I even verified it with Redump, yet on the hardware, i still get vertex explosions and the game crashes soon after.

I only modded my Wii very recently so i'm using the latest recommended D2X cIOSes, followed the https://wii.hacks.guide/ guide to the letter. Other games also work perfectly on this Wii using this drive. Very weird issue. All problems i see with this game are from the early 2010s, with the exception of this fellow on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/WiiHacks/comments/imd8qa/does_anyone_have_problems_playing_medal_of_honor/

Does anyone have Just Dance 2023 and Just Dance 2025 channel artwork for USBLoader GX? I had necessary files from users in FEH's Discord, but it seems that now that group and it's chat history is not accessible.

I'll be very thankful if anybody can help me out. Thank you!

By artwork I mean bnr files in cache_bnr folder.

Usa Twilight Princess won't work on my pal Wii. I just get black screen. All other games work fine. I'm using SD card for games. Latest cios and usb loader gx

EDIT: Fixed it by setting video mode to disc default

Is it possible to increase cover quality when games are shown using multi cover view? In settings it's set to high quality, but in multi cover view when up/down is pressed on D-Pad covers are shanked and their quality is getting much worse.

Hello Team! Hell Could a nice soul make it possible that usb loader could launch the RVZ format on wii and Wiiu?? That would be a dream!! Repositories are becoming in this format....;-(

Hi, where can I find the recent USB Loader GX Forwarder source?
The code here looks quite outdated (the latest commit was made 14 year ago):
Code:
https://github.com/wiidev/usbloadergx/tree/USB_Loader_GX_Forwarder
But I see that you were updating the forrwarder: newest version (5.2) was uploaded to

The Wii cannot (for a variety of reasons, including low-memory and no support in cIOS) uncompress RVZ format files, and repositories have been in WBFS or ISO for more than a decade so no worries. It's not a feature that will ever happen. Blame the Dolphin crew for introducing a 100% incompatible format.

I think it's caused by the deflicker filter settings. I'll look into it more before I release the next update.

The app uses images with a resolution of 160 x 224, so there isn't much you can do with them.

Each image is typically under 150 KB, which means the app can load in dozens of them at a time without running into memory issues.

The Wii only has 1 CPU core and it's not even 1GHz, so it's not possible to decompress RVZ without it impacting performance to some degree.

A Wii U could probably do it if all of the cores could be used. But it's unlikely to ever happen as there isn't a high demand for it and there's tools like TinyWiiBackupManager, which can convert ISO or RVZ files to WBFS and back without data loss.

It wasn't shared, since I'm not entirely happy with it. Yes, it fixed some issues, but it doesn't support GPT and OpenDolBoot doesn't always patch it correctly.

I'll either update or rewrite the forwarder once I've finished working on the loader update, since it'll need an update so that it understands exFAT partitions anyway.

Question

I used my Wii to teleport bread.

I MEAN i can't play masterpieces in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Every time i start a masterpiece, return me to USB Loader GX.

I need a specific ios to play it?

That means an issue with the game file itself, in my experience modifying it via Wiimm's ISO Tools caused that issue no matter what.

Only way I was able to get a wbfs file with working masterpieces was to use TinyWiiBackupManager to convert a clean iso to wbfs and then strip the update partition in there, giving me a roughly 6.7 GB file that works perfectly.

Btw Dolphin uses the same images for covers, but it adds some sort of smoothing/upscaling for them, so they look ok even on HiDPI monitors.
I can check Dolphin’s source code for additional details on how it handles these covers.
once I've finished working on the loader update
I’ve noticed some weird behavior with some PAL games on vWii (converted from Japan Wii U, vWii system titles were reinstalled for EU region): they hang without any output - just black screen. Mainly happens with Nintendo titles: Mario Sports Mix (EU PAL), Mario Party 8/9 (EU PAL), also with Boom Blox (EU PAL). I dumped these games which are in my collection. They do work in Dolphin.
Then I bought these games for US region, dumped them and they do work w/o any changes to USB Loader GX settings.
So, my question is how to debug such issues? Do we have some sort of debug output which can written to log file on SD? Some sort of remote debugger?

Unlike an emulator that reads pixels in a straight line, the Wiis GPU processes pixels in small tiles. So if your assets aren't perfectly aligned to these tiles or they're rendered at non-integer scales then things will get more blurry. But you'll never see this blur in Dolphin, since it doesn't render things the same way.

There's also colour compression that can make things fuzzy, and whatever your TV or monitor does to the 480i or 480p image too.

It's hard to say for sure, but it could be a region check. If it is then my next update might fix the issue due the improvements I've made.

There's nothing a user can do at that point, since the loader has handed it off to the cIOS.

I own a USB Gecko, so if I can replicate the issue on a Wii, I should be able to see what the games are doing (if anything).

Is there any way to return to the menu layout from v1281 on v1283? I would like to have the new features and fixed but I really preferred the way it looked before. Thanks!

I understand that some people don't like change, which is why I made the update backwards compatible with older themes.

I'd encourage you to try using the updated theme for a while longer though, since it does correct a number of issues while also adding new functionality.

Hi ^_^

I'm having a problem with Nintendont, though I'm not sure if it's a GX issue or a problem with both :( After finishing GameCube games, I try to use the combo to return to the GX menu, but the game image freezes, and I have to force my Wii to turn off.... However, when I launch Nintendont from the homebrew channel, it returns me to the homebrew channel without any problem  My GameCube games are stored on a USB drive, and I usually load both GX and Nintendont from the SD card, along with other homebrew apps I have. I've also tried loading a GameCube game from the SD card to see if the same thing happens, and it does return me to the GX menu but if it's on the USB drive, it freezes

What could be causing this?

Good point - I'll check it on my monitor.

Can you share it with me? I promise not to upload it anywhere or share - just for my personal use - kids want me to change the loading splash screen which is backed in the forwarder :D USB Loader GX uses a smaller logo which is used during it's startup sequence after the forwarder.
