Don't think I've thrown my own answer into this thread, so mine is Dawn of War (the first game and expansions). Fucking legendary span of titles not including Soulstorm, but a competent team remaking it might heal that wound.

There have been a lot of great suggestions on this thread so far. Here is my short list:

  • FFVII - Just add good (not some of the American crap we get for dubs) voice acting, upgrades to the graphics and mini games
  • Xenogears - Same as FFVII, but most importantly, flesh out the second disc as was originally intended
  • TLOZ - Basically pick any/every game that hasn't been done. ALTTP, Oracle of, and ALBW would be my votes
  • The Simpsons Hit and Run
  • Descent: Freespace

Yeah, three "complete/incomplete" games that come to mind are Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Secret of Mana, and Xenogears. It'd be nice to see those three get proper treatment, but I don't see it happening.

Ultima Underworld I&II. Origin/Looking Glass was fully in 3 dimensions then, when ID was still struggling with 2,5.

I think Need for Speed Underground 2 definitely deserves a remake—the vibe, customization, and soundtrack were iconic.
With modern graphics and online features, it could be a huge hit all over again.

Not just Underground 2 but also Most Wanted, Midnight Club 3 and The Simpsons: Hit 'n' Run.

King's Field series.

They were pioneers in 3D console RPG's, nearly a decade before Morrowind and other heavy hitters made it to consoles.

With From Software blowing up between the Souls series and Elden Ring, it'd be cool to introduce a new generation to their RPG roots with some QoL updates, like faster turning.

The games are absolute gems if you like old school first person RPG's like I do. 2 JP / King's Field 1 USA is my favorite of the original trilogy, and 4 is amazing.
