@Hadrian: also the Europe date.

Lets make this extra clear these are the release dates:

EU - April 15, 2008
NA - April 15, 2008
JP - Q2 2008
Well that's good, not seen no adverts for it though, currently its wall to wall Mario Kart & Imagine titles on the DS. Saying that the only Wii games I've seen Capcom advertise was Zack & Wiki & Resident Evil 4.

Finally a good week for Euro Wii owners.

EU - April 15, 2008
NA - April 15, 2008
JP - Q2 2008

@Anakir: March 28th? LOL it isn't out in Europe yet.

As I mentioned, I said I got the release dates from IGN, I wouldn't know if the dates were correct or not. So I wouldn't know if Europe had it or not (as you can see, I'm not from Europe).

But yeah I'm not sure what the "real" dates are at the moment so I'll just leave it as that. Or I'll just quote you for the first post for now. Thanks for the correction though.

Can we get a confirmation on just how or why the controls are trashy on the Wii, and if there are other options.

This one was on my must grab list and now it's on the fence. If I see enough bad written on it I won't buy it until it comes down 1/2 in price (new or used in top shape) or at all. I like getting a unique fun game, and something that isn't just more the same for the system but if they just slapdicked the controls on there I'm so not interested.

The EU release date is wrong, it was suspended for some months. Not sure about the NA release, but on ebgames.com it's still the same.

When I first heard about the port I thought "that makes sense" given some of the mechanics. I missed it on PS2 so I thought I'd throw it on the gamefly queue. I wasn't especially interested but it seemed like it was time to dust off the Wii, charge the batteries, and check it out. Now I'm hearing about poor Wii controls and lower scores. Poor Wii controls...that's pretty much the motto of every Wii game. I'm happy to say that was the last straw. It's off the queue and I finally sold the Wii. It was the best day ever.

well apparently the wii version isn't as good as the ps2 version, as it's getting lower scores - the wii controls aren't done very well, which is a shame as they did a great job on RE4

I don't know where your getting your "lower scores" from but, game rankings has an average of review sites at around 90%.

But yeah, cant wait.

Looks like Nintendo Power is the only one that's rating it "low", though to me 7.5 isn't that bad, 6 is considered average you know.

Game Informer has two scores for it 8/10 and 9.25/10. Play Magazine says 9.5/10 and GamePro says 4.5/5

Cant wait for this game. Love Zelda like Rpg's. Fingers crossed we might see it over the weekend (and it works on Pal).

i believe Okami is not a RPG, it is a Action-adventure.

Well you know what I mean its just Zelda with a Wolf. Had it on Ps2 and got about 8 hours in. Well smart. Think its out to buy in the Usa on Tuesday.

Neither Zelda nor Okami are RPGs ... they are both action-adventures with RPG elements

Looking forward to playing through this. I must've gotten 3/4 the way through the PS2 version over the course of a year or so. You kinda lose context and forget stuff playing long games like this. I was going to play it again from the start but out pops the Wii version now.. or soon I hope.

Okami's a fantastic game, but it draaaaaaaaaaaags. Seriously, at some point you'll want it to end, but it just won't, at least not for a long time (it took me 100 hours to beat it but I was probably going at a slow pace). If the combat wasn't such a cakewalk and actually got brutal later on in the game, it wouldn't seem like such a grind.

Plus it has Capcom's wonderful "fight-the-same-bosses-over-again" gameplay element added in there.

I believe I'll be picking this one up tomorrow. I've been making a conscious choice to invest in more games such as this. The overlooked classics of the gaming industry. The independent film equivalents of the gaming world.
