I'm talking about good Wii U exclusives or games where the Wii U version is arguably the definitive version of the game.
Wind Waker HD
No explanation needed. The game suffers from a visual glitch on CEMU making actual hardware the better option.

Twilight Princess HD
As above.
Affordable Space Adventures
Mentioned in top Wii U game lists for using the gamepad innovatively. I haven't played it.
Nintendo Land
A collection of creative minigames which effectively use the gamepad.
NES Remix (series)
The 3DS port cuts some content.
Yoshi's Woolly World
It was ported to the 3DS but the Wii U version is superior because of its higher resolution.
Paper Mario Color Splash
A divisive game. I loved it for its writing as many do. Others hate it because its battle system is way too slow.
Star Fox Zero
Another divisive game. It uses the gamepad innovatively but the controls are hard to learn.
Star Fox Guard
A Wii U exclusive. I haven't played it myself.
Call of Duty: Ghosts
An FPS game which allows you to point and shoot with the Wii remote. Suffers from performance issues unfortunately.
ZombiU
Uses the Wii U gamepad and was reworked when ported to other platforms.
Pikmin 3
Controls better with the Wii remote.
Rayman Legends
Uses the Wii U gamepad and some content had to be reworked when porting it to other platforms.
Sonic Lost World
Sonic fans might want to check this one out. For everyone else it's an average game existing at a time where anything below a 9/10 isn't worth your time.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
Contains better single player content than Smash Ultimate. If you want to play multiplayer then play Smash Melee or Smash Ultimate.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
Contains Wii U exclusive levels. Not the definitive version but worth playing if you already played it on the Switch and want more.
Splatoon
Contains Wii U exclusive missions not seen in its sequels. Not the definitive game in the series but worth playing if you already played its sequels on the Switch and want more single player content.
