Hey there, I'm working on my PS3 game library which has been almost completely physical so far. In no small part because I've already had to get my hardware fixed after an optical disk drive failure, but I digress.

I know that NoPayStation lists digital game titles and if you right-click on a title, you can check for updates (patches). But what about physical titles? When I search for the games I got ISO images, which usually have title ID that start with BLES followed by a number, I see titles with the same game name, but different title IDs, that start with NPEB for example. Those are digital counterparts, whose patches are incompatible for the physical game if I'm not mistaken.

How can I obtain the patches for my physical games that I normally download from PSN via NoPayStation when physical games obviously don't show up in NoPayStation?

Disclaimer: Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know this question should be within the rules given that patches are downloaded for free from PSN. Just in case to avoid misunderstandings...

feed this the Title ID for the game and it'll grab an update pkg if there is an update for that title.

This application is working pretty nicely overall, but I noticed that a fair amount of games are not showing any patches even though there are likely patches according to SerialStation.

Some games yield:
The requested meta file for "[Title ID]" contains broken syntax. This is most likely due to Sony prepairing to shutdown the update servers.

This one worries me more because it suggests that the patches were lost during the brief time between Sony anouncing the shutdown of the PSN digital store for PS3 and the reversal of that decision.

Do you, or anyone else for that matter, by any chance know of alternatives to still find patches for physical games in these cases?

Not that I'm aware of unfortunately, although in my experience I've been able to get away with downloading patches on PS3 with a "emulated disc" (idk the correct term) using multiMan and I haven't been banned yet so perhaps that may be the way to go for specific titles.
