I don't know if I'd go as far as to say the game is hated, but Digimon Rumble Arena gets criticized as being "too simplistic" as a fighting game, as it was made for children... But it's still one of my favorite games to play unironically, and I love using it to benchmark PS1 emulators and FPGA cores with.

the second games gameplay reminds me of sega all stars battle royale

I actually really enjoyed Darksiders 3 even though a lot of people criticized it. The combat and world felt fun once I got into it, and I liked exploring the lore at my own pace.

Wind Waker got so much hate when it was first revealed. Everyone wanted a realistic Zelda after the Space World demo, and instead they got cel-shading. People called it "Celda" and said Nintendo was making games for babies.
Turned out to be one of the best Zeldas ever made. The art style aged better than anything else from that generation. Twilight Princess looks dated now. Wind Waker still looks gorgeous.
Also, Star Fox Adventures. Yeah it's basically a Rare Zelda clone with Star Fox skin on it, but I had a great time with it as a kid. The Dinosaur Planet concept was genuinely cool.

Lighting Returns. Aside from the final dungeon, I enjoyed a lot this game. The final boss battle still one of my favorites of the franchise. I liked a lot more than FFXV.

Mega Man 5, FFX-2 and AC Odyssey
Sorry, just noticing this now. Who's down on Mega Man 5? I think it's one of the best of the six main games on the NES. Excellent music, same great gameplay, and the devs continued to experiment with graphical effects and upgrades. There are even collectable tokens that unlock the final boss's weakness. The game's a blast, but it is about as easy as the other sequels.

I'm not sure how fans feel about Final Fantasy X-2 nowadays. I recall X-2 being very polished and having a solid soundtrack, but I don't know how strong it was compared to Final Fantasy X itself. Unfortunately, I rushed through it back in the day. (On the one hand, I got to actually play through it before my life got really complicated, but on the other hand, I didn't get to appreciate it.)

Castlevania 64 🥰

It's always cool to see the shock of some poeple when I tell it's my favorite game ever.

Someday I hope I find the words to elaborate why I like it so much.

Mickey's Speedway USA for the Nintendo 64. It gets a lot of hate for being a downgrade of Diddy Kong Racing and I can see why but the game's good points get overlooked because of it. For a Nintendo 64 game it looks and runs very well and while lacking boats and planes it offers a more refined experience of the Mario Kart formula than Mario Kart 64 did.
