I thought the same, but after researching some numbers, I saw that MS performed well, selling over 10 million units in the first year from its launch, so it seems that my old box and I aren't alone in this😁👊🏼

Well, I've seen the conference, it seems all phat models can theoretically be hacked, for now it's only early 2013 models, if any of this leads to a modchip, I guess this modchip will be for all phat models, my guess is that a modchip that'd be compatible with all phat models could emerge in a year or two along with some patches for the HV and the SystemOS and GameOS to run pirated games and homebrew for GameOS, maybe we'll even see a custom BIOS/UEFI to boot other OSes like Linux or Windows, tbh that'd the be the thing I'd be most excited about, phat models sell for pretty cheap and turning them into capable PCs would be pretty neat...

The issue with this is that you can't REALLY do a lot with a modded Xbox One, let alone the weakest model:
- Besides the few Xbox One exclusives, anything else can be ran on a modded PS4 with better performance (and a much more accessible exploit)
- PS4 can already boot into x86 Linux and get some "small" values on it, but nothing really outstanding since the hardware is pretty weak for today's standards
- Now that they confirmed the DVR model can be exploit it means it will raise in price for a bit until people realize the PS4 is just better for piracy/Linux/exploits

However, the biggest pro side of this is that Homebrew developers can now fully use Xbox One's hardware compared to the development mode limitations they previously had.

EDIT: Mind you, I also have a Xbox One DVR AND a 9.00 PS4, so I'm just looking at this to check what homebrew enthusiasts will bring to the table

I'd just be interested to run Windows on it for the fun of it...

If this leads to something being done for the One X, I'd be glad. Enhanced Ninja Gaiden and Final Fantasy XIII man...

I just got one from my local goodwill with a 2013-10-14 manufacturer date it was $30 and is fully functional. Hopefully it is a good candidate, not sure how early we are talking here for it to be glitchable. I mostly just want to see a fully implemented Linux that can make use of full hardware access, would make a banger of a streaming and emulation box I think.
